Rafael Carvalho (14-1) will defend his Bellator middleweight crown against Alessio Sakara (18-11) on Saturday, December 9 at Bellator 187: Carvalho vs. Sakara, an event that takes place at Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy.

The 30-year-old Carvalho has twice defended the belt against Melvin Manhoef, first by split decision in May 2016, then by head-kick KO in April. If he retains the strap against Sakara, he'll aim to take on Mousasi next in early 2018.

Sakara, 35, has dispatched light heavyweights Joey Beltran and Brian Rogers by knockout in his brief Bellator stint, both in his native Italy. "Legionarius" returns to his home country for his first world title bout with a 19-11 record, including 13 wins by knockout.

In the main event of  Bellator Kickboxing 8 Giorgio Petrosyan (86-2) takes on Yodwicha Por Boonsit (161-52) in a bout for the inaugural Bellator Kickboxing Lightweight world title.

No, he hasn't really. He's been doing good but he didn't work his way up the ranks.

Rafa ended it 40 seconds on another topic on Facebook there are were giving Bellator shit for giving Alessio a title shot as we know the ufc has never given title shots to people who didn't deserve it .

Yeah it is very hypocritical of them gegard vs carvalho has the potential to be a great fight you can guarantee two things one gegard wins "this just proves that the ufc is on another level (yes they still say that) and gegard fought" easier" competition and is a "can crusher"

if carvalho wins uh this proves that Bellator isn't on the same level as the ufc and gegard was never that good anyway.
