Former UFC heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga (17-11) comes out of his two-year retirement to face Aleksander Emeilanenko (26-7) at Russian Cagefighting Championship 2, in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Gonzaga (17-11), is a veteran of the sport, and hasn’t competed since a first round knockout loss to Derrick Lewis (19-5) back in 2016 at UFC Fight Night 86. Gonzaga has been competing in pro boxing during his retirement in Mixed Martial Arts however.

Emelianenko (26-7), returned to his Mixed Martial Arts career in 2017 after getting out of prison earlier that year. Currently riding a three-fight win streak in Akhmat MMA, the promotion operated by Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov, the 36-year-old knocked out Geronimo dos Santos, Virgil Zwicker and Szymon Bajor. Emelianenko hasn’t lost since January 2014, when he was TKO’d by Dmitriy Sosnovskiy.

Really looking forward to this one. Plus, Ivan is in the co-main event. Really good card here. Hope they stream it live.

Big Gonzaga fan and would love to see him but I think Aleks takes it as his chin is likely better and both are great on the ground.

Yeah, should be an interesting fight.

Aleks hasn´t lost since 2014 and is on a 3 fight win streak. 9-2 since 2011. Out of his 26 wins he has 23 finishes. If he only had Fedors work ethic.

Would love to see him get the win against Gonzaga tomorrow. Just wondering if there is anyway to watch live.

Nice finish by Aleks. Gonzaga was able to keep him down early but Aleks came back and dominated.

Rizin should sign Aleks. Would be a good addition to their HW division.
