REBEL FC is heading to Beijing and looking to make one heck of a splash.

The Singapore-based promotion has lined up former UFC heavyweight Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva to face Liu Wen Bo in the main event REBEL FC: Battle For the Kingdom on 11 August – in what is shaping up as its biggest card yet.

Liu (11-7-1) is a staple of Chinese MMA, rising to prominence as one of the most successful upper-weight divisions fighter. The former heavyweight dropped down to middleweight where he secured the Legend FC belt in 2012. Lui will be coming in hot, having defeated Marcelo Tenorio at REBEL FC 8 in Guangzhou just weeks ago.

He will be facing another veteran of the sport in Bigfoot – an illustrious name in the MMA world for his power and imposing physical stature. Silva has competed on many of MMA’s biggest stages from UFC to Cage Warriors, Cage Rage and EliteXC Champion – the last three of which he rose to champion.

REBEL FC 9 will also see former UFC competitor Wang Sai face Brazil’s Adriano Balby for the REBEL middleweight belt. Since leaving UFC, Wang has been on a tear winning 15 out of 16 bouts. Two other former UFC fighters Wang Yayong and Ning Guangyou, both alumni of The Ultimate Fighter: China, will also feature on the card.
