Yusuke Yachi, Hatsu Hioki, Kaitlin Young will be among those competing at Rizin 12 on Aug. 12.
RIZIN announced several matchups for the card during a recent press conference. Rizin 12 takes place in Nagoya, Japan and is headlined by a lightweight showdown between Yachi and Bruno Carvalho
KRAZY BEE’s Yusuke Yachi (20-6) heads into Nagoya on the heels of six-straight phenomenal wins – five of those taking place inside a RIZIN ring. After losing to BJJ-Ace Kleber Koike Erbst at Pancrase 280 in late 2016, Yachi signed with RIZIN Fighting Federation. Debuting on New Year’s Eve that same year.
He starched Manny Pacquiao doppelganger Mario Sismundo within seconds. Yachi fought three times in 2017, finishing three big names in the form of Daron Cruickshank, Satoru Kitaoka, and PRIDE legend Takanori Gomi. He went to a decision for the first time in two years when he had an absolute war against Diego Nunes at RIZIN 10 in May.
Opposite the 28-year-old slugger stands Bruno Carvalho (10-5) of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Despite recently turning 36-years-old, Carvalho has not fought since October of 2016. He defeated Diego Farnezi for the vacant JF Fight lightweight title at JF Fight 17.
Prior to this, he hadn’t fought since well over two years earlier. Losing to Lucio Hantaru at Shooto Brasil 48 in June 2014.
There are also two all-Japanese featherweight fights on the card with Hatsu Hioki (29-11-2) facing Mikura Asukara (6-1-0-1) and Reina Miura (9-1) taking on Kaitlin Young (7-9-1). Meanwhile, welterweight Kiichi Kunimoto (19-7-2) faces off against compatriot Ryuichiro Sumimura (13-6) and heavyweight Roque Martinez (11-3) faces off against "Samurai Mark Hunt" Kiyoshi Kuwabara (10-10).

I will say this with people like kyoji horiguchi, rena Kubota, kanna asakura, tenshin nasukawa, yusuke yachi each have the potential to be huge stars and if rizin can get the next fedor, mirko, Antonio, wanderlei, Quinton, igor etc they would be set. Of course they don't have to be from the countries these men come from after all the next fedor could be from my country the likely hood is low though

Found this reddit thing I do agree rizin is being smart taking it slowly and two I do prefer quality shows over quantity shows.

Yes they will crown champions when they established more fighters I would love though I doubt it that rizin uses the pride version of weight classes

Definitely, quality over quantity is better right now for MMA. UFC is proving that.

One of great things about Pride was their foucus on HWs and LHs. I would like if Rizin had more HW and LH fights.

I would like to see the same with the LHWs and HWs. Seems like we all pretty much agree on that. Those are the best divisions for finishes and in my opinion, the best divisions period. There was talk of a HW GP so we'll see.

Heavyweights and Light Heavyweights are great but the problem is that it's easier to get top Japanese fighters in the smaller classes. The big thing is that PRIDE had great divisions cause they were the biggest promotion so they likely got first dibs while RIZIN isn't the same position as PRIDE, at least not yet. Even UFC's Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight divisions aren't rich as they're in a transitional phase with aging fighters and younger fighters trying to take that next step.

It will take a while before they get numerous top light heavyweight and heavyweight fighters in your do you think they should scout talent in japan and internationality until they get that pulling power?

You are right rizin is not at same level as pride for now if sakkikabarra is right about rizin being further along then pride of those same 3 year period that looks promising . How i see it for rizin to get to pride level or even beyond apart from a beloved japanese fighters they need a fedor cro cop wanderlei shogun etc like pride they will also have that global feel .

Rizin should sign talented HW and LHW fighters from east europe. Exciting kickboxers and sambo athletes in the bigger divisions from, for an example, Russia, Croatia, Ukraine and Poland will take Rizin to the next level. They need a new Fedor, Cro Cop and Vovchanchyn.westcott123 wrote:It will take a while before they get numerous top light heavyweight and heavyweight fighters in your do you think they should scout talent in japan and internationality until they get that pulling power?

They certainly are sounds of things they will crown champions when they get a deeper roster of I would love if they use the pride style division with the added lighter and women's division though I suspect they will use the regular division that is in all of mma.

I hope they start crowning champs soon with their GPs. Nice to have a tournament to decide an inaugural champion.

Nate also apparently tweeted im not fighting on this card fuk the ufc.
It is bullshit of how McGregor gets an automatic title shot despite not competing in the octagon for nearly two years
Which is why i sometimes don't understand why some people are so desperate to join the ufc you could be 21-1 the most talented person in the division yet you still don't get a shot at the belt because some other person talks shit.
Funny how you don't see it in rizin and pride of yesteryear but but i thought rizin is just a pro wrasslin org and the ufc is the real fights or some idiot says this is the ufc this is real.

I can't wait either. Next year or on NYE would be a good time to start.
