The card features a highly anticipated middleweight title fight pitting Gegard Mousasi (44-6-2) against Rory MacDonald(20-4), who is moving up a weight class for a title shot against the 185-pound champ, along with the fourth fight in the legendary rivalry between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (37-13) and Wanderlei Silva(35-13).

Also included on Sept. 29, will be the opening fight of Bellator's first-ever Welterweight World Grand Prix, which will feature eight of the best welterweight fighters on the planet.

Gegard Mousasi impressed in his promotional debut over former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko, a win that earned him a shot at Rafael Carvalho, where 185-pound gold was on the line. Now, after a decisive victory against Carvalho at Bellator 200, Mousasi will defend his crown against Rory MacDonald, entering the bout with his current unbeaten streak at seven fights. "The Dreamcatcher," who trains out of The Netherlands, holds one of the most impressive resumes in all of the sport, at one time winning the STRIKEFORCE light heavyweight title, as well as the DREAM light heavyweight and middleweight titles.

Over the last several years, "The Red King" Rory MacDonald has become the most popular Canadian mixed martial artist due to his classic stand-up wars and wins over some of MMA's best in Paul Daley, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, B.J. Penn and Demian Maia. Bellator's welterweight champion joined the Viacom-owned promotion in 2016 and went on to defeat Douglas Lima for the welterweight title at Bellator 192. Now, the Tristar Gym-trained fighter sets his sights on winning gold in not one, but two separate weight classes.

A six-fight veteran of Bellator, "Rampage" Jackson's legendary career has seen him compete against some of the top names in the sport, generating a loyal army of fans along the way. The former PRIDE and UFC champion is the proud owner of many epic highlight reel slams and knockouts that he has racked up throughout his epic battles with the likes of Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, "King Mo," Kevin Randleman and, perhaps most-notably, his trilogy with fellow Bellator athlete Wanderlei Silva, who he now meets at heavyweight on Sept. 29.

Wanderlei Silva's wars with "Rampage," Tito Ortiz, Mirko Cro Cop, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Kazushi Sakuraba, Chuck Liddell and Michael Bisping remain some of the more memorable bouts in MMA history. "The Axe Murderer" is far from ready to close the book on his illustrious career, returning to action against a man he has already competed against three times before. In addition to the PRIDE middleweight title, Silva's trophy case includes awards for "Fight of the Year" (2003, 2004, 2007), KO of the Year (2008) and multiple "Fight of the Night" awards. Most recently, the Brazilian native made his Bellator debut against Chael Sonnen in the main event of Bellator: NYC.

I got Mousasi as well by total beatdown.

I think I'll go with Wand. Rampage just does not seem like his head is in the game.

Yeah but with it being silva rampage might want to even the score and wanderlei is not going wrestle him like chael. So far I have it 60,40 rampage it depends on which rampage shows up though if it is is motivated rampage I have him if it is the rampage that fought chael I have silva let's be real chael wouldn't of beaten a prime quinton or even a prime silva yes I did say Wand never had the best take down defence he was very active on the ground and was a very explosive guy personally I would of preferred silva vs manhoef.

Though surprised wanderlei picked chael to win the whole tournament  Let's be real the only way chael is beating fedor is wrestling him he won't stand with fedor, cause fedor hits like mack truck and fedor has the better submission game. I do see chael taking fedor down its a given it will happen hopefully fedor is working on take down defence. I think people are picking chael on the basis of him beating wanderlei and rampage but wanderlei has never had the best take down defence and quinton seems not as motivated the last time rampage wrestled was probably his fight dong sik Yoon in his last pride fight.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Rampage won, depends if he shows up or not like you said.

I would have loved to see Wand/Manhoef as well. Imagine how crazy that fight would be if both came out to fight like they usually do.

https://mmajunkie.com/2018/06/wanderlei-silva-plans-to-run-for-brazil-congress-rampage-jackson-could-be-last-fight-bellator

Wanderlei is running for congress in Brazil this might be his last fight.. In other unsurprising news the zombies as usual are mainly focusing so they can say bellator is the ufc retirement home some complain about Scott putting older guys on the main card over the unknown talent ... Oh but of course if Scott does that they will just who da fook is that?  You can't win with these people. I'm know I'm right when I say they only want the ufc to be the only major player in the sport.

This could be it for Wand.  It will suck to see such an exciting legend of the sport call it a career.

Mousasi is the best MW in the world. I think it is hard for even zombies to argue with that. I hope he smashes MacDonald to really show that even further.

If this is his last fight I hope he enjoys retirement I would not be surprised that quinton is not far behind retiring either. I hope fedor wins the whole tournament . I forgot to add them saying you can juice all you want in bellator and other organisations yep because
1 the ufc has an excellent track record of clean fighters
2 gsp has said it is still easy to cheat usada of course they were are accusing him of being on roids

At this point, it's hard to argue. Mousasi was ranked #4 in UFC's own rankings and has since beat Shlemenko and Carvalho. Also, Robert Whittaker does have an asterisk in the eyes of some because he didn't beat GSP. Romero can't make weight and Rockhold lost to Romero.

Yeah, I've seen comments almost like that on Sherdog where there is a thread on this.

That was one of the best fights in the PRIDE GP, Cro Cop vs. Wand. Oh, the good old days of MMA.

That's right. I am pulling for Lima again in this one. I'd like to see him in a rematch with Rory as part of this GP.

Have a read of this sounds like Rory is in the grand Prix people would be saying "why is Rory in the grand Prix? He is the champion" why? Because it makes it more interesting that is why.

So what? PRIDE had their champions in GPs except WW and LW. Wanderlei was in the 2003, 2005, & 2006 GPs while Fedor was in 2004 and was supposed to be in 2006 before getting hurt and that's how Wanderlei got in. Overeem was originally in the Strikeforce GP.

Yeah it does. Since every GP fight is 5 rounds would be cool if he is defending his belt for each match he is in.

Exactly, usually having the champs in the GP is better. The only time it's not is when the winner will take on the champ but that is not this type of GP.
