Nice. It looks like they aren't doing the 20 events they had mentioned. I think it is better this way.

I think we all do. Oversaturation is terrible. Quality over Quantity.

They should go up by like 1 event a year until they get to a comfortable level. Just don't be like 1C and announce a zillion events that dont happen.

I agree 10-15 events per year would be good in my opinion.

I'd like to see 6 - 8 events per year about.

I suspect that the Caldwell vs Horiuchi rematch will be at the end of the year

Looking forward to that one. I hope Gooch can pull off another victory over him. Was a really good fight.

This is great news. Inaugural title fight plus 6 - 8 events this year planned.  That's the right number in my opinion so they don't over saturate things.

Great to see they are including two NYE events again.  I like that format better than this year's with the Yarenoka no one could see live.

I hope they announce a GP soon.

I love it the article says it isn't a one way street you have the Caldwell vs Guchi rematch as well as cro cop doing a bout in bellator.

With his Roy rematch as for Mirko vs Fedor My money would be on Mirko.

That's cool there is the rematch coming up and Cro Cop fighting there.

Mirko has done better with age in the sport where the sport has past Fedor by I am afraid. He is not in his prime anymore, that's for sure.

He certainly isn't Mirko isn't either he certainly adapted his style though. The punch that Bader hit Fedor with if it was Pride Fedor yeah it would of wobbled him but he wouldn't of went down that easily.

It's amazing how Fedor is/was the least hit fighter in mma history his detractors will say the usual hulla balu , least hit doesn't mean you don't get hit his was more wear and tear same with Mirko , wanderlei and Chuck are the guys who been hit one too many times .

Even though kyoji the rizin champ I do hope he enters into more tournament as well . Rizin has less events then the UFC yet , they put on better shows and kyoji has had more fights.

Very true. In regards, Kyoji, that's right, he has quickly become the number 1 or number 2 BWs in the world with RIZIN.

Satoru Kitaoka vs Roberto Satoshi Souza. Damien Brown vs Koji Takeda and Manel Kape vs Seiichiro Ito set for Rizin 15, April 21, Yokohama Arena.

With an excellent resume in submission grappling, Roberto ‘Satoshi’ Souza has remained undefeated in his 6 grappling bouts in Metamoris and Quintet inclduing opponents like Clark Gracie, and Gordon Ryan - with his most notable victory coming against Japanese veteran Daisuke Nakamura. Coming into MMA, Souza has won all 7 of his bouts by submission, winning the Real Fight Tournament Championship in 2016. With his RIZIN debut against skilled grappler Satoru Kitaoka, Souza will have a baptism by fire against battle-tested veteran.

A 3-time ZST Flyweight champion, Ito last competed in RIZIN FF against Kizaemon Saiga, winning via unanimous decision in Yokohama.  An extremely competent grappler, Ito defeated Japanese legend Hideo Tokoro in a grappling contest in 2017, as well as well as drawing in his last outing against Shooto and PRIDE veteran, Daisuke Sugie. He was scheduled to compete on last year’s NYE event against Kai Asakura, but he now returns to face Manel Kape - once again in Yokohama.

Koji Takeda, fighting nearly his entire professional career in DEEP, the young prodigy finally earned his first world championship in October of last year. Boasting an undefeated record of 8-0, with his title victory coming against RIZIN fan-favorite Satoru Kitaoka, Takeda will be looking to make waves in the lightweight division as he takes on Damien Brown.
