Bellator 221: Chandler vs. Pitbull - May 11 (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION)

Two of Bellator's biggest rivals will finally get a chance to settle their differences later this year.

Featherweight champion Patricio "Pitbull" Freire will move up to 155 pounds to challenge lightweight champion Michael Chandler at Bellator 221 on May 11 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Chandler (19-4) regained the title in December with a decision victory over Brent Primus, while Freire (28-4) most recently defended the featherweight title in November with a decision win over Emmanuel Sanchez.

Also slated for that card is the return of former WWE star Jake Hager (aka Jack Swagger), according to sources. Hager was successful in his MMA debut last month and is getting right back to work, though his opponent has not been finalized yet, sources said.

In addition, the event is expected to feature former 170-pound champion Douglas Lima vs. the winner of this weekend's Paul Daley vs. Michael Page welterweight tournament fight and undefeated rising star A.J. McKee versus former featherweight champion Pat Curran.

On the ufc card didn't really care about the rest of the card Alex definitely should be next in line.

Bellator card was fun. I can see the controversy in the main event but I thought it was a good stoppage as you had Chandler flat on his stomach taking unanswered shots which doesn't look good. Lima's knockout has to be a candidate of the year. Nice to see Lima got a lot of love from the crowd as he is a great fighter who puts on good fights. Give McKee credit as he was a prospect but he took a giant step beating Curran. Sure Curran hadn't fought in a year but it's still huge.

Douglas Lima is Top 5 welterweight regardless of organisation of course certain fans don't see thing's like that.

I have to rank Pitbull as the greatest fighter in Bellator history a top 5 feather weight goat.

New two division champ Pitbull looked great against Chandler.

Lima's KO of MVP was unreal. Put him out cold.

Lima definitely should be up there in the rankings, as should Pitbull but of course they are not. I agree Pitbull is a FW GOAT.
