Good has moved on to the Bellator welterweight quarterfinals with the victory. DEEP champion Yuya Shirai was dropped from the rankings due to the entrance of Good.

Yasubey Enomoto:

Vinicius Kappke de Queiroz:
Vinicius Kappke de Queiroz finished Mark Holata in the opening round of the Bellator heavyweight tournament at Bellator 75 on 05 October 2012. The victory earned Queiroz entrance into the Bellator tournament semi-finals and a spot in the GLOBAL-MMA heavyweight contenders list.

Richard Hale:
Top 10 GLOBAL-MMA light heavyweight, Richard Hale, earned a spot in the GLOBAL-MMA other contenders heavyweight rankings following a 1st round TKO over Mike Wessel at Bellator 75. Hale was removed from the light heavyweight top 10 rankings due to the change in weight class as he has no current plans to return to the division. Top League S-70 light heavyweight, Viktor Nemkov, entered the light heavyweight rankings due to the removal of Hale.

Alexander Volkov:
Star Russian fighter, Alexander Volkov, made easy work of Brett Rogers at Bellator 75 earning a unanimous decision victory. Volkov moved up 3 spots in the heavyweight rankings to number 7 following the dominant victory over the veteran Brett Rogers. Volkov will face Vinicius Kappke de Queiroz in the Bellator heavyweight tournament semi-finals on 02 November 2012. Brett Rogers dropped out of the rankings following the defeat.

Shinya Aoki: The “Tobikan Judan” Shinya Aoki made his debut in the ONE FC cage where he earned a beautiful triangle submission victory over Arnaud Lepont in the first round in the main event of ONE FC 6. Lepont was choked out cold with the triangle submission applied by Aoki. Thanks Johan.

Yeah, Volkov was very impressive against Rogers. He really deserved to move up after that win.

I think Torres at 7 is the most fair position for him. There was a lot of debate over that so I really took a lot of time placing him (comparing his record and stats and recent performance against the rest of the top 10). I hope Nam takes him out soon though.

Yeah, as AA begins getting solid fights with WSOF, if he wins, he will be moving up fast. He has a solid overall career performance which is an important criteria in the rankings. Same with Rumble but he is pretty new to the division so his ranking is mainly based on his career perf. in WW and MW divs. As he starts winning at 205 he will move up quick. He is a very solid fighter.

Once WSOF starts crowning champs they will move into the top 10 fast. Holding titles for the major promotions like Bellator, ONE FC, M-1, KSW, WSOF,..., has a big impact on ranking status.

Shamil needs to start fighting better comp. or he will get past up real soon as well.

Your comments are always welcome in these threads. Everyone's comments help improve the ranking system because we all watch a shit ton of MMA. I swear, I think collectively we never miss a fight around the world.

Thanks.

Boku should be top 10, Kotani in other contenders and Takenori Sato is definitely a top 10 MW.

Also no Daisuke Nakamura?

Good rankings otherwise

Revised in OP. Yeah, I always intended to give the champs of the major orgs. like Bellator, ONE FC, M-1, KSW, and WSOF (in the future) an edge in the rankings but I missed it on these. In the future as titles are held in these promotions I will get them into the top 10. Thanks.

I made some revisions today and added Boku to top 10 due to ONE FC title. I added Sato to top 10 as well and Kotani to other contenders.

Thanks for the comments. I had Sato listed for a while and didn't realize he won another fight on 01 Sept. to get him into the rankings.

Nakamura does have a solid recent win over Kishimoto recently but he also lost to Kikuno not too long ago and I have Kikuno at the bottom of the other contenders list so he should be below him which leaves him just outside the list.

Your help with JMMA is appreciated.

First I heard of him. Pretty impressive start to his career at 9-0 with 8 finishes (1/2 subs and 1/2 KOs). I added him to a list on my PC to watch out for. Hopefully he gets signed by a major promotion like ONE, M-1, Bellator, KSW, WSOF,... Also, Alexei Kudin is right on the cusp of the HW contenders list. Two solid fighters at 16 and 17 rank.

I would love to see that fight. I'm not too sure Garner would be able to take out Santos. Once Santos gets it to the ground is pretty dominant. Santos is ranked one higher because after he tore through the Bellator HW tournament he moved up quickly even ahead of Guram before Garner took out Guram. I think this rank is pretty close between Garner and Santos (2 and 3). Depending how the Bellator HW tournament goes, the new Bellator champ could end up ranked either number 2 ahead of Garner or number 3.

GLOBAL-MMA Rankings (Outside Zuffa) - October 2012 Empty Re: GLOBAL-MMA Rankings (Outside Zuffa) - October 2012

Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:14 pm
Below are some top fighters I have listed on my PC per division to keep an eye out for in the future. These fighters are not ranked and are not listed in any particular order but they are on the cusp of entering the top 15 rankings we have listed on this site. I have a number of other fighters listed as well but these are the fighters I have near the top (10 fighters per division are listed below). Please continue to make suggestions for fighters to be considered in future rankings if they continue to win fights.

Fighters are given an edge that fight for larger promotions; such as, Bellator, ONE FC, M-1 Global, KSW, and WSOF. After that promotions like DEEP, Legend FC, Shooto, Pancrase, RINGS, CWFC, MFC, and BAMMA are considered. Fighters could be listed for promotions smaller than this (such as KOTC, UCMMA, Titan, XFC, ADFC, SFL, AFC, HEAT, Legacy, Instinct, Jungle Fight, TPF, Shooto Brazil, Road FC, URCC, CFC, ROC, RUFF,...) but they would have to have wins over some top ranked fighters or they would have to be top fighters coming from UFC or SF.

As always, champions from the top 5 promotions are given a decent edge in the rankings.

Also no Daisuke Nakamura?

Good rankings otherwise

I made some revisions today and added Boku to top 10 due to ONE FC title. I added Sato to top 10 as well and Kotani to other contenders.

Thanks for the comments. I had Sato listed for a while and didn't realize he won another fight on 01 Sept. to get him into the rankings.

Nakamura does have a solid recent win over Kishimoto recently but he also lost to Kikuno not too long ago and I have Kikuno at the bottom of the other contenders list so he should be below him which leaves him just outside the list.

Your help with JMMA is appreciated.

Fair enough, i forgot he lost to Kikuno

Kikuno and Kishimoto have a fight coming up at DEEP Impact 60 on 19 Oct. I think Kikuno takes this one. At least I hope so. I would like to see a rematch between Nakamura and Kikuno for the DEEP LW belt. Kikuno only beat him by decision in DREAM. It wasn't the best fight I ever saw but since Nakamura has the title in DEEP it makes sense to have him fight Kikuno due to that loss about a year ago.

Minakov recently got signed by Bellator. He was fighting in League S-70 in Russia along with many other M-1 greats. He absolutely murdered Eddie Sanchez with one atomic right hook to the side of the head. Full head shot KTFO in the air deal. Not a hit'em on the button most-HW power shot.

Minakov's 4 time World Sambo Champion. His submission wrestling is off the hook. He 'could' have the heaviest hand to come to HW MMA for a decade. He's fairly green at striking but is a killer even with short punches. This guy is the real deal and holy crap this guy's some kinda athletic specimen. Very good speed everywhere. Check out his throws in the highlights. Talk about ragdolling dudes. 8)

IMO - any G-MMA top 10 HW except Aleks or Sergie would have a lot of trouble with Vitaly. I would give him the edge over Garner and he would tool somebody like Guram standing and annihilate him with his power. I think Vitaly needs to be on the top 10 list next month.

I'm gonna keep pushing him again... but Adam Khaliev is a better fighter than a few on the WW list. For sure the bottom 2-3.

Oh yeah, I am familiar with him. He is the guy that landed the Rock Bottom. Sweet that he signed with Bellator. Does he have a fight scheduled? I can revise the October rankings to put him in based on his 17 Sept. win or wait until his first Bellator fight to add him in. Every ranking placement is based on the last fight or else fighters would just get randomly moved around.

Just added him to the others list on PC to remind me to bring him up after his next fight. Will he be fighting for Bellator as well or League S-70?

Sherdog has him listed as a MW which is where I just listed him.
