i have heard they were great while some other websites say not so good

Pros: The Fuji ratings average percentages were double previous years, the August event is now planned in April, the RIZIN president is happy with the show, and the event was on a tape delay so not surprising that it was beaten by a live Kid fight.

Cons: It was beat by other stations including a live Kid fight (RIZIN was on tape delay though so not sure how many viewers watched live streams).  The huge rated NYE concert is like the New York NYE show in the U.S. so it is expected to have a huge rating like that.

you know what this is great news, i really expect higher, but reality set in, JMMA has been dead for years, so looking at the ratings its great news, now they have to go from here and grow the new talent, develop stars, if i was them I would go after a huge star in pro wrestling from japan(NJPW they have the biggest stars) and have them do an mma match, it would draw good ratings, that way people will tune in and see the new stars of RIZIN, i wish them the best, I know RIZIN will succeed.

Yeah, there are some definite signs that this is good news for RIZIN.  I think and I hope they will succeed as well.

Great to hear

What I heard was that while the annual Red & White Music show on NHK averaged 39.2%, that was the worst number in history for it. The 9% for the Kyokugen live showing of Masato vs. Kid was expected. But only 6% was expected for Rizin, so 7.3% is great.

Still waiting for "Breakfast with Fedor" on Spike numbers in the U.S.

According to @SportsTVRatings "Breakfast with Fedor" on Spike TV in the U.S. averaged 141K. Not good, but it was at an unusual time for MMA, and taped.

Yeah it was on at 7 in the morning lol im surprised that many ppl watched honestly.

Yeah, 10 AM and 7 AM to air a taped delayed fight cannot be good for ratings. Would have been better just to air live.

It was on early, but the thing is all the big Fedor fans and even the haters stayed up all night to watch it or got up early to watch it so there was no need to watch it on tv. Plus it was already on youtube before it ever aired on tv.

The show aired at 10am eastern and on a Thursday so I didn't expect huge numbers.

Combat sports had a great night on NYE in Japan.  At one point TBS and Fuji TV combined for a 16.3 percent rating both airing combat sports.  TBS was airing a live Kid fight and Fuji was airing a tape delayed broadcast of RIZIN.

Not basing it on the ratings but I too believe RIZIN will succeed. The time feels right and ufc has been digging themselves into a hole with the reebok deal amongst other things.

I think they will succeed as well.  They are doing the right things in my opinion.  They have the big time JMMA org., the production, the rules, the ring, the international cross-promotion we all been hoping for, Fedor, former PRIDE president and team, Fuji TV deal, Saitama arena events, fights and fighters to entertain the Japanese audience, GPs, building their own stars and cross-promoting,.....  

With all the things they are doing right, it is hard to criticize any of their decisions so far.  Live broadcasts would be great for future events but that is just one of very few things to mention. Impressive start. Now they can continue to build up their fighters and sign free agents so soon they will have a solid roster.

Amazing how the portrayal of the ratings differ from here and SWW. Can't wait to see the Rizin 1 numbers.
