ONE Championship: Hero's Dream - La Nsang vs. Ngalani - November 3 (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION)
Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:42 pm
One FC 61
November 16, 2017
Thuwunna Indoor Stadium
Yangon, Myanmar
Main Card:
Aung La Nsang (20-10) vs. (3-3) Alain Ngalani
Main Event | Openweight
ONE Championship has recently announced the main event for ONE: HERO’S DREAM, set for 3 November at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Headlining the card will be reigning ONE Middleweight World Champion “Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, who will take on heavyweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion, Alain “The Panther” Ngalani in a 5 round Open Weight Super Fight.
Aung La N Sang was last seen in the ONE Championship cage this past June, when he toppled previously-unbeaten titleholder Vitaly Bigdash of Russia to capture the ONE Middleweight World Championship.
Ngalani, on the other hand, was just in the cage last weekend, when he scored an impressive 11-second knockout over former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Hideki “Shrek” Sekine of Japan. It was recorded as the fastest knockout in ONE heavyweight history.
What immediately stands out about this contest is the size difference between the two athletes. Aung La N Sang, who is the promotion’s middleweight titleholder, competes at the 93kg limit, while Ngalani, a resident of Hong Kong originally from Cameroon, usually campaigns in ONE’s heavyweight division, which has a 120.2kg limit.

Openweight super fight should be a good one. I hope to catch this one.

I soured on them after they got rid of soccer kicks, but they still hold some of my favorite fighters. Too, I love their scoring system, and they have a truly global roster. I love seeing fighters from all over the world fight each other. They got guys out of SE Asia, Middle East, and Africa. Makes it much more interesting than just USA v. Brazil all the time.

I'm not completely up to date on the exact rules. I thought I noticed them getting rid of kicks to downed opponents period in an effort to be more 'mainstream', which they immediately walked back in the next event and never mentioned again. Probably got big backlash, and noticed it was a shit ruleset.
I think they've played with the rules. I don't even know what's legal currently. Might want to look it up in a few.

This main event is insane, also. The record is no problem, because this guy earned his stripes in OneFC. Insane matchup. Probably looking for the biggest challenge to Burmese Python.

I like Burmese Python alot. He is awesome. But do you know what's more awesome? ASKREN IS FACING SHINYA AOKI THIS NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's another big reason that I love ONEFC. I really believe they got the best fighters on the planet. Askren, Aoki, Bibiando, Foloyang, that Leg Lock specialist whose name is failing me at the moment (from Japan, not Paul Harris). They really do got the best, from all over the world, and not just all a bunch of ageing "legends." I mean, too, just look at the list I got right there: USA, Japan, Brazil, Philippines.
