Global-MMA Ranking Rules
*This ranking system includes fighters that are not under exclusive contract to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
*Top level fighters that leave the UFC may be ranked in subsequent rankings.
*Fighters that sign exclusively to the UFC will be removed from the rankings.
*Rankings are based on a fighter's overall career results and recent performance.
*A fighter will be ranked number one if he defeats the number one ranked fighter in the weight division except under certain rare circumstances where the number two ranked fighter clearly deserves to move into the number one ranking position.
*Victories over highly ranked fighters and losses against non-ranked opponents have a larger effect on the fighters ranking position.
*A fighter will not necessarily take the place of his opponent in the rankings after a victory or a loss.
* A fighter can move up a maximum of three spots with impressive victories over a fighter ranked below him; however, there is no limit if the fighter earned a title or a tournament championship with the victory.
* An unranked newly crowned champion who earned a title in a major league MMA promotion can enter the top ten even with a victory over an unranked fighter.
*A fighter will drop in the rankings if he does not fight regularly against high level competition.
*A top ten ranked fighter can become ranked in another weight division after one or more wins in his new weight class.
*A fighter can be ranked in two different weight divisions.
*Champions and fighters from prominent promotions will have an advantage over champions and fighters from promotions with lesser competition.
*A fighter will be removed from the rankings if he does not fight for two years.
*Fighters that are signed to multiple promotions will have their promotions listed based on the following criteria: 1) championship held in a promotion, 2) predominant promotion the fighter fights in, 3) promotion last fought in.
*Rankings will be updated every month.

Wow 6 years it is great to see that fighters outside the ufc get top 10 rankings it's a pity the other ones don't follow suit. It would certainly get rid of the "if you're not in the ufc you're a can crusher" BS

100% mma was so much better when there were 2 big organizations though I had pride at number 1. In my view pride had the better fighters in the heavier division 185 up were as the ufc was on par slightly had the better fighters in the lighter divisions.

That was definitely the golden age of the sport. I would like to see it happen once again with the rise of Rizin.

Hopefully that Phoenix will rise again soon of course negative Nancy's will say uh it will mean less super fights and the best spread out across 2 organizations that maybe so but at least there won't be any if you're not in the ufc you're a can crusher though they will accuse every rizin fighter to be on steroids of course as we know the ufc has always been roid free. If I say when this does happen which fighters do people see jumping ship? I think guys like DJ, Aldo, come to mind and most likely the other top 10 who 1 don't suck up to the ufc 2 getting screwed around.

I could see a lot of fighters wanting out of the UFC like Hunt, Werdum, DJ, Aldo, and many others. I think fighters like Overeem would like to go back to Japan to finish there careers. I could see Shogun jumping ship also.

There will be lots and those guys I can see jumping ship. I will say this if when rizin starts crowing Division champions
one thing I didn't like about pride was the lack of defences of the belts I my view the belt should at least be defended every 3rd or 4th fight not 8 non title fights and 1 defence per 9 bouts.
Unless there is grand prix it should be mandatory to defend every 3rd or 4th match.

I didn't like the non-title bouts either (except for GPs).

He would then again the zombies have been saying it for years even during when pride was around.
If those people think that a 5ft10 230lb fedor can't throw Nganaou on his head they are out of their minds prime fedor was thick solid guy and men with those body types are capable of doing that especially with years of training.
I would not be surprised that some of those fall for the Hollywood image you know the guy with the abs and the big muscles and think he is a bad arse mother fucker that ain't worth Jack if you're huffing and puffing after a couple of minutes.
I have noticed this through out the years is that ever notice how the zombies would give praise for say stipe knocking out arlovski but when fedor did 6 years before it was arlovski has a glass chin, his past his prime he was beating fedor up and fedor got lucky if you watch that fight in slow motion not one punch landed flush they either landed on the arms or fedor rolled with them. Same with Tim Sylvia randy got praise for beating him but when fedor did it Tim was never that good anyway.

Definitely, that is how the zombies are. They never gave any respect to Fedor.
