Out of Retirement, Roger Gracie Tops List of Seven New ONE FC Signings

Ten time Bjj world champion Roger Gracie is among seven new signings announced on Friday by ONE FC. The Strikeforce and UFC veteran is set to make his debut later this year and will compete in the light Heavyweight division.
Gracie (6-2) is a third degree BJJ black belt and initially announced his retirement from MMA after being released by the UFC, but appears to have had a change of heart after a recent training trip to Singapore.

Another light heavyweight to sign on with Asia’s biggest MMA promotion is undefeated Polish fighter Michal Pasternack (10-0), who will be competing in the 205-pound division alongside the likes of Gracie, Jake Butler, James McSweeney, and Christian Kaminishi.

Asia’s biggest MMA promotion can also boast two more fighters with perfect professional records among its ranks after picking up  South African welterweight Warren De Reuck (7-0) and Brazilian middleweight Rafael Atilho (7-0).

The other three fighters to put pen to paper are Kazakh middleweight Igor Svirid (9-1), Russian lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin (7-1), and Thai bantamweight Anatpong Bunrad (3-1).

Great signings for the likes of One. Following the path of SRC and Bellator is always a safe way of building new stars.

They got to get more heavyweights, though.

Awesome, Roger should fight for the LHW title right away.

Roger vs. the winner of Kaminishi/McSweeney for the inaugural belt would be a solid matchup.

Hope Roger has worked on his cardio ....his jits is unreal but he has never really been an elite mma fighter.

Maybe new rules and scenery change will bring him better luck and better performances.
