Bitter sweet show for sure. On one hand, it's very classy and nice to see M-1 pay their respects. However, it's sad due to the fact they should be welcoming him back this year but instead have to memorialize him.

Good to see Smoldarev back so soon. Haven't seen much outside the title fight but he seems like a talented kid with a great potential.

The latest fight added to M-1 Challenge 55, dedicated to the memory of the first M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion, Guran Gugenishvili, is an intriguing middleweight clash between American invader Luigi “The Italian Tank” Fioravanti and Georgian favorite Nodar Kudukhasvili.

Pavel Vitruk vs Max Coga on M-1 Challenge 55 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The 24-year-old Vitruk (12-0) is a rising M-1 Challenge star. Considered one of the best featherweight prospects in the MMA world today, Vitruk was 2-0 last year, defeating a pair of Brazilians challengers, Rafael Miranda at M-1 Challenge 53 and Clayton Santos at M-1 Challenge 46.
Training out of the famed Alexander Nevsky Club in St. Petersburg, Russia, Vitruk has his sights firmly set on M-1 Challenge feathe...rweight champion Ivan Buchinger, who is a Team MMA Spirit stablemate of Max Coga.
A lightweight champion at home in Germany, Max Coga (10-3) will be fighting in his second M-1 Challenge event having lost last May by first-round knockout (kick) to Maxim Divnich at M-1 Challenge 47.
The loss to Divnich resulted in a Team Coga decision for him to drop down one weight division to featherweight. In his last action, Coga bounced back strong with an impressive victory this past November, stopping previously undefeated (5-0-0 pro, 4-0-0 amateur records) Gabriel Sabo in the third round.

Agreed. Very classy for Garner to pay respect especially given they go a long way as rivals. Has an honorable quality to it. I like stuff like this as it reminds me of something a samurai or knight would do by paying respect to a fallen warrior.

That was a nice sub by Smoldarev over Perak. Perak should go back down to 205. He looks way too small at HW.
Surprised to see Raz get finished in the first. Too much time off from the sport I guess.
