Ganryujima 2 - July 18 (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION)

Anyone else check out these news fights? A soccer kick ko, a failed flip faceplant, mostly good fights. Very entertaining stuff imo. The picture of the dude who got soccer kicked from the tale of the tape prefight would make a fantastic addition to the emoticons. If Minowa and Aurelio are in the tournament I think they both would destroy the dudes who tried out.

The standups from g n' p were still a little inconsistent, but the new ring out rule is an improvement imo. The must throw them off the platform from within the circle to get the ring out. I like the podiums they stand at between rounds. How long until someone takes a brutal fall off the platform from a ko?

Wait. They are holding an event now??!!??!?!?!?! They had one back in May??!?!?! How are you watching this??!?!??! I thought they don't have an event until July?

I watched the first two matches. They sucked. Neither guy knew how to throw a proper punch. The second match just turned into the guy bullrushing the other out of the ring. So, I can see why they might want to change the ringout rule to throws. It is very difficult to stop someone from doing that. The matches would essentially turn into sumo matches (nothing wrong with that, but Japan already has sumo).

Looks like they will hold another "dojo" or trial event on the 26th. Still looking at 3 possible options for final rules. I hope they go with rule set "c".
