Bellator MMA to stage three international events in 2016

Bellator MMA, the emerging mixed martial arts promotion, will hold its first three events outside of North America in 2016, with stops planned in London, Tel Aviv, and Italy. The announcement was made today by Scott Coker, President, Bellator MMA. 
 
The event in London will be held at the O2 Arena with the main card broadcast LIVE on Channel 5 in the UK and on tape-delay on Spike TV in the U.S. Also, Spike UK will broadcast the prelims LIVE in the United Kingdom.
 
"We are thrilled to bring the incredible excitement of hard-hitting Bellator action featuring some of the best athletes in the world to our new global partners in the UK, Israel, and Italy," said Coker. "The London event is especially encouraging as we will broadcast the main card in the UK on one of the country's most-distributed broadcast channels, Channel 5."
 
In Israel, the Bellator MMA broadcast will air locally on Ego Total.

Nice. Tel Aviv and Italy are some new locations for the major orgs.

Great to hear. Hopefully, they don't go overboard like the UFC's "World Fucking Domination" since that hasn't done UFC any favors.

Not to mention that Bjorn's model wouldn't let them do this because they're running weekly shows so they can't go to different countries when they need to be elsewhere a week later.

Bellator is trash now.

They could run a show in every country and it wouldn't make the product any better.

Brazil. Russia would've been perfect up until the recent talent purge.

These are to please new broadcasting partners in those regions and btw London is perfect Bellator has excellent british talent including its LHW champ i can see Mcgeary vs Phil Davis in london.

Yeah they air globally in alot of placesthey just locked into a couple new broadcasting partners so shows live in their home will show bellator is dedicated to all its fans.

It's also possible that they specifically picked Italy and Israel because UFC hasn't gone there yet. I'm sure Brazil is great but how many events do the UFC hold every year there not to mention Jungle Fight and Shooto Brazil.

idiot! Bjorn had planned a UK event but it didnt happen

why you care about bjorn so much, he's last years news.... Bellator has changed they have less events now and can go to other countries for some shows....

London is a good place but I dunno how they'll do in Israel and Italy...it could backfire on them and they lose money.

The Italy event happened (though I have yet to see it). How was it? Anybody have gate, attendance, or ratings yet?

^I didn't see any of that information posted anywhere. The event was pretty entertaining.

I don't know about live gate,attendence or that but it averaged 588,000 viewers.It went against a few other sports events but did ok numbers.
