Tribe MMA Opens up in Tokyo

PrideFC, UFC, DEEP veteran Ryo Chonan has opened for business. Tribe MMA, located in Tokyo, opened up recently and looks to be the leader in MMA in Japan. Tribe, a 60 square meter facility located by the Nermia Station exit in Tokyo houses what can be described as a state of the art facility for those looking to further their skills in MMA. The facility has both showers and locker rooms, something that is not very common in Japanese gyms. Chonan has certainly taken this facility to the next level. Having trained in the United States for a large part of his career, his has been able to incorporate the western aspects of MMA with the aspects of JMMA to make what can be thought of as a very innovative type of facility.

Chonan has stated his goal is to make martial arts part of ones life style, whether it be the physical nature of the sport, or even from the proper fundamentals of dieting, Tribe offers all aspects. Rates range from 5,250 yen and up. The facility is open every day, sans Sunday for the time being.

Sounds like the place is pretty good. Hope it can bring some more talent to the JMMA scene. Ryo Chonan's a cool guy, i wish him luck.

It would be awesome, some pics and maybe some commentary on it too , but we don't know if its possible for him at the moment.

5250 Yen = $64 is a pretty good price considering most BJJ gyms in the US charge roughly over $100 per month
