Bellator inks Norwegian-based middleweight Jack Hermansson
Wed May 30, 2012 4:41 pm
Middleweight prospect Jack Hermansson is the latest addition to the Bellator roster.
Officials recently confirmed the signing of the Norwegian-based fighter with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
A debut date and opponent haven't been determined for Hermansson, though he could fight in the "Summer Series" of events in the next couple months or during the upcoming seventh season, which is expected to kick off in September.
Hermansson, who trains alongside the likes of Joachim Hansen at Team Hellboy, will make his U.S. debut with a perfect 5-0 record. All of the 22-year-old's victories have come via stoppage, including four knockouts.
Hermansson really splashed onto the scene a year ago at Cage Warriors 41, when he stopped Ali Arish (11-1 at the time) with a head-kick knockout. It snapped Arish's 10-fight win streak. Most recently, he competed at September's Cage Warriors Fight Night 2 event, where he knocked out veteran Mike Long (8-2 at the time).
Despite his knockout power, Hermansson also has a strong Greco-Roman wrestling base.
He joins a Bellator division that recently saw the departure of its long-reigning champion, Hector Lombard, to the UFC.

Interesting signing. I'd like to see him built up a little more but he might get a couple fights and thrown into the MW tourney along with Billstein.
I'd like to see Bellator sign Rumen Dimitrov while theyre at it too.
