Cage Warriors 48 adds Hucin-Phillips, Mason-Roberts, Wilkinson-Cohoon Empty Cage Warriors 48 adds Hucin-Phillips, Mason-Roberts, Wilkinson-Cohoon

Cage Warriors' middleweight-tournament final has been delayed, but three fights have been added to next month's Cage Warriors 48 event.

Victor Cheng injured his elbow, and his tourney final with Pavel Kusch has been pushed back to Cage Warriors Fight Night 7 on Aug. 30.

But Cage Warriors 48 has added middleweight-tournament semifinals John Phillips (15-5) vs. Faycal Hucin (7-3), welterweights Jack Mason (20-10) vs. Danny Roberts (6-1), and welterweights Aaron Wilkinson (9-5) vs. Leigh Cohoon (8-5).

Cage Warriors 48 takes place July 21 at HMV Forum in London. The event's main card streams live and free on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following prelims on Facebook.

The Phillips vs. Hucin fight could have big stakes. If Cheng isn't healed by the end of August, the Phillips vs. Hucin winner gets his spot against Kusch in the eight-man tournament's finale. The tourney winner earns Cage Warriors' middleweight title.

"It’s disappointing for everyone to learn of Victor's injury because he's certainly earned this title shot with very impressive wins over Matt Gabel and Faycal Hucin," Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan stated. "I think we've given Victor enough time to recover from the injury in question, so hopefully everything will go well for him and his proposed fight with Pavel will go ahead as planned."

Phillips was on a 6-1 run before his loss to Kusch in the tourney semifinals. He recently rebounded with a submission win over Tomas Penz at Cage Warriors Fight Night 6. He looks to sustain the momentum against Hucin, whose five-fight win streak came to an end with his decision loss to Cheng in the tourney semifinals.

Mason, meanwhile, makes the drop from middleweight to welterweight. The veteran British fighter suffered losses to Brian Foster and Chris Fields but has rattled off three consecutive wins since March. He takes on Roberts, who opened his career in late 2010 with six straight victories before a submission loss to Pavel Doroftei in December.

Wilkinson, meanwhile, may best be remembered for his stint on "The Ultimate Fighter 12," where he suffered a submission loss to Cody McKenzie at the show's live finale. The UFC then released Wilkinson, who's since posted a 3-1 record with three stoppage victories. His opponent, fellow English fighter Cohoon, recently snapped a three-fight losing streak with a quick, 14-second knockout of Lee Cage in April.

Nice to see Mason go for a fresh start at 170.
