Someone temporarily hijacked the Ultimate Fighting Championship's website on Sunday, apparently because of the organization's stance on online piracy.

UFC.com on Sunday afternoon was briefly redirecting to another domain that identifies itself as the "Underground Nazi H4ck3rGr0up" site. UFC had things back to normal before 5:52 p.m. ET.

One individual identified himself as "JoshTheGod" on the domain to which UFC.com was redirecting. That person posted on Twitter at 4:51 p.m. ET to take credit for Sunday's incident:

UFC.com hacked Joshthegod1tweet
The mischief came on the heels of an opinion piece written by Lawrence Epstein, general counsel for UFC parent company Zuffa. The op-ed published Sunday in Zuffa's hometown newspaper, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, expressed support for proposed legislation such as the Protect IP Act and the Stop Online Piracy Act.

Both bills have been criticized heavily by Internet users and technology companies. To protest PIPA and SOPA, the popular Wikipedia site earlier this week replaced its pages for 24 hours with a note urging readers to speak out against the legislation.

Also this week, law enforcement officials in New Zealand and the United States shuttered the Megaupload site, which the Justice Department describes as a haven for pirated material. Shortly afterward, a cyberattack shut down the Justice Department's site for hours.

Zuffa for years has decried online piracy because the majority of its revenue comes from pay-per-view broadcasts. The company in recent years has become aggressive with lawsuits against parties it accuses of illegally streaming UFC shows on the Internet.

As of 6:45 p.m. EST the DNS seems to have been reset and UFC.com no longer loads. It's probably going to come back online shortly.

^Dana has been doing that kind of stuff more and more, turning on even the ufc's own fans. He says stuff like "who cares what they want". Apparently he thinks he can just run over anyone now and won't turn people against him. I can't wait till these guys go down, it's just a matter of time before some scandal hits out of no where or enough people turn against them to hurt their PPV buys even more.

The bigger they get the harder they fall. And they usually always end up falling on their own weight.

White shouldn't be handling customer service through his twitter, how unprofessional is that?

The worst part is, there are still people defending even this. I checked out sherdog just to see the zombie response, some were mad about it but many were taking up for dana. Apparently dana can just do whatever he wants and they will defend anything. They could walk in on dana raping their mom and they would defend it. I have no idea what these people get out of being mindless drones.

Now I hear Sherdog owners got hacked too by the same squad. It's unclear but did Sherdog support SOPA too like Zuffa or was there some other reason?

Maybe they found archives on how Sherdog is being paid by zuffa to be biased to their side. Now that would be interesting.

Well they did ban a whole bunch of people a while ago (myself included) because we supported Fedor/M-1 and questioned their pro-Zuffa hype and spin.

^I got banned on sherdog for posting a pro Fedor/M-1 article. lol, I have been banned from there multiple times though but it was never just. They don't like anyone who changes their zombie ways and posts reality. If you ever wonder why it's such a zombieland over there, half the reason is because they ban everyone who isn't.

Its so Zuffa biased there that their "Worldwide MMA Discussion" forum section is about who is good enough to be a UFC fighter and who isnt.

They even celled their MMA News as "UFC News" at one stage.

Try it, you can practically call Fedor and anyone outside the UFC as CANS and garbage and get away with it. But NEVER say anything bad or criticize any current UFC top fighters, else youd get banned.

When Brock was red hot you would get banned for pointing out his ground and striking weaknesses as well as his experience.
