According to MiddleEasy.com, it appears that UFC owner Lorenzo Fertita has taken the time to write a letter to Chairman Lamar Smith in support of the SOPA bill.
The UFC has faced extreme criticism from their internet fan-base due to their unpopular choice to support this bill. SOPA is not simply a bill that supports anti-piracy; it has the ability to censor an entire website if deemed illegal. It appears that the UFC does not truly understand the bill they are supporting and how it will hinder their own business instead of help them.
The UFC is attempting to maximize their PPV buys, and that is understandable: they are a prime example of corporate capitalism and therefore embrace profit maximization as a given. This does not excuse their blatant support for a dreadful bill that will tarnish their reputation.
Here is the letter written by Lorenzo Fertita to Lamar Smith, the chief sponsor of SOPA, provided by MiddleEasy:

Most people who watch the streams wouldn´t buy the PPV in the first place plus the streams have shitty quality.

I know the real intention behind this.
We all know that porn-videos in the internet are often ripped from dvd without a license, but child porn are not, because they are illegal (no license because of no commercial trade with it).
This would make it much easier for them to find their beloved child porn so that they don't have to spend hours with adult porns while searching.

It's about govt control. The U.S. is becoming a police state and most people here are to dumb to even see it coming (largely due to crappy education from public schools). They have been pissing on the Constitution for a 100 years and it gets worse every year. Our President now has the authority to detain indefinitely and/or execute anyone, including American citizens, without even being proven guilty of a crime. That is a King, not a President.
Today, the Senator Rand Paul from my state was detained by the TSA because the scanner went off when he went through it, so he asked to go through it again, they refused and wanted to do a full body pat down. 1.5 hours later he got to go through again and it didn't go off. They have been doing this to old women, retarded people, children. They want control of everything, and they are unfortunately getting it. The U.S. is in multiple undeclared wars and has troops stationed all over the world. We are 15.2 trillion in debt and spending like mad men, we will collapse and when it comes it will come fast like with the Soviets.

This is so true and its something ive been mentioning for a couple of years although the various sheep at sherdog were/are too ignorant to see the corrolation between the government wanting a one world order and the ufc wanting a one org. mma landscape. Fuck those sheep , im American born and bred , and i knew enough to distance myself from my patriotic emotions and rationally see this theatre for what it is. I never cared about getting criticized or labeled , i just cared about waking people up . When i saw that it was futile i just stopped caring period.Kinosis wrote:It's about govt control. Ill admit this forum is charging my battery.
As for Zuffa , fuck them ! this is just KARMA coming back to them from all those years of greedy maneuvering to get where they are. You can take on some people some time but you cant go against the whole world and expect to come out unscathed in the court of public opinion.
The only reason more americans dont come out against the ufc is because they have been conditioned into this type of greedy capitalism and programmed far too thoroughly to see the wrong in it when you put profit before life , integrity , code of ethics , and humanity.

I wouldn't be to upset if all these hackers hacked their info and put their criminal activity up for everyone to see.

Would love to see all their criminal activities, these Vegas mafia hacks are two faced scums. MMA would be better off without them.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — A prosecutor's office spokeswoman says an Estonian citizen has been jailed for 60 days after being arrested by Dutch police at the request of American authorities investigating file-sharing website Megaupload.
Spokeswoman Marieke van der Molen declined Wednesday to release the man's name in line with Dutch privacy rules, but a U.S. Justice Department official identified him as software programmer Andrus Nomm, 32, a citizen of Estonia and a resident of both Turkey and Estonia.
Van der Molen says the suspect was arrested last Friday and appeared before a judge Monday who ordered him detained for 60 days pending an American extradition request.
New Zealand police arrested four other suspects last week, including Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom.
