WSOF 4 set for Aug. 10 in Ontario, Calif., WSOF 5 in Atlantic City on Sept. 14

About a week out from its third event, World Series of Fighting has dates and locations for its fourth and fifth shows.

WSOF 4 will take place Aug. 10 at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontatio, Calif., and WSOF 5 is set for Sept. 14 in Atlantic City, N.J. WSOF President Ray Sefo announced the dates and locations during a Thursday conference call with media members.

An exact location was not announced for WSOF 5, though WSOF 2 in March took place at Revel Atlantic City.

Main-card broadcasts for both shows will be on NBC Sports Network.

The promotion's third event, featuring a welterweight bout between Jon Fitch and Josh Burkman, takes place June 14 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Preliminary-card fights for WSOF 3 can be seen via a live stream at MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com)

Although Sefo didn't announce headliners for WSOF 4 or WSOF 5, he did say a pair of high-profile recent signings, Tyson Griffin and Nick Newell, are expected to be on those cards.

"Tyson Griffin 100 percent will be fighting in August," Sefo said. "And Nick Newell will be on one of those two cards, as well."

WSOF debuted this past November in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Spong confirmed for WSOF 4, likely vs. DeAnda



Tyrone Spong's next foray into mixed martial arts should come on Aug. 10, on the night of World Series of Fighting 4, according to company president Ray Sefo.

Sefo said that Spong is confirmed for the bout during a Thursday conference call to publicize WSOF 3.

He added that Spong would likely face Angel DeAnda. The two had been set up against each other in a bout originally scheduled for June 14, but Spong decided to withdraw after visa issues precluded him from entering the United States in enough time to conduct a full MMA training camp with his team, the Blackzilians. Instead, he elected to fight in the upcoming Glory 9 kickboxing event on June 22 in New York.

"Those two were matched up originally, so I don't see why that should change in August," Sefo said.

DeAnda has a career record of 11-2, and the fight will mark his WSOF debut.

Spong is one of the most decorated kickboxers to cross over into mixed martial arts, with a career mark of 69-6-1 with 1 no contest. He hold career victories over Peter Aerts and Remy Bonjasky, among others.

He made his MMA debut at WSOF 1, knocking out Travis Bartlett in the first round.

According to Sefo, WSOF 4 will take place at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.

the torres/nam fight was held up beacuse of an injury to miguel but is not been cancelled, so will go down in one of the 2 events for sure as of now

it all depends on rumble's broken fist....but as of now yes!!! but its not official yet, beacuse it can be possible the pairings change and we may see rumble vs kyle and jan vs new guy!!!!

in today's conference dave huckaba was confirmed for wsof4....imo ray sefo will be his opponent

That would be cool. Wonder who new guy will be. This will then be their best card yet.
