 When he won the title I gave him a bit of a boost in the rankings like I do with many of the other champs.  I'd like to see Choi fight for the DEEP title.  If he won that, it would bring him into the top 10.  If he wins his next fight impressively, he can jump up to 3 spots if not for a title.

Roger Gracie will be in the MW contenders list next month.  He was just released by UFC.

Sadly, I don't think Choi will ever be fighting for DEEP title. I just think his resume is far superior. Ishida alone is probably better than any of Gafurov's wins.

 I could see the argument for Choi being above him. Ishida was a big win and great first round finish.  After his next fight he will move up 3 spots with a win if it is against an unranked opponent.  Just wish he would fight guys like Kawajiri, Georgi, Yokota, Takaya,....  He could move up a lot more with wins over these guys.

It just continues to blow my mind that people think Sergio Pettis is top ten material.

On the World Golf Rankings they give injury exemptions. Other than that, if you don't play in a PGA sanctioned-event for 12 months though. We should do the same.

When some is really not an active fighter he should be pulled from the rankings just like Fedor was. Inactive means you chose to be that way whether it's permanently or not. If Fedor or Randy took 12 months off to make a movie they should forfeit their ranking. That's a willfully taking a whole season off in any other sport. That;s not fair to the other guys fighting full time during that period.

I think that simply boils down to their being so much depth at 155. ISAO is worth of being a contender, as well.

 I don't agree with that either.  If he would have fought and beat Curran in his last fight, maybe top 11 or 12.  You have him placed right.

 Yeah but there are also suspensions and other things that could have a fighter go into a 13 month layoff or 14 month layoff.  Don't you think it would be better to just keep it at 2 years but start dropping fighters that are choosing not to fight after 12 months.  I mean if Sergei came out tomorrow and said he was fighting Volkov, it would suck if he was just removed from the rankings entirely at the 13 or 14 month mark.

 Mainly because he is a lightweight and there is a list a mile long of LWs that could enter the rankings.  I have watched his fights and he is KSW champ but couldn't get him into the rankings after his last fight.

 Exactly.  I actually had ISAO ranked at one time but he got bumped out unfortunately.  I really want to get him back into the rankings.
