Adamek to face Glazkov in March

The heavyweight title elimination bout between Tomasz Adamek and Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov was rescheduled on Thursday.

The 12-round bout will headline a "Fight Night" card on March 15 (NBC Sports Net) at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pa., Main Events promoter Kathy Duva told ESPN.com on Thursday evening.

Former light heavyweight and cruiserweight titleholder Adamek (49-2, 29 KOs), the New Jersey-based Polish star, and Glazkov (16-0-1, 11 KOs), the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist from Ukraine, were scheduled to fight on Nov. 16 in Verona, N.Y., in a return of boxing to NBC.

However, Adamek withdrew the week of the fight because of a stomach flu and was replaced by Garrett Wilson on three days' notice. Glazkov defeated Wilson by lopsided decision in an entertaining fight.

"We had the right to reschedule the bout between Adamek and Glazkov in the contract and we invoked that right away," Duva said. "We want to do the fight. The fighters want to do the fight. We think it's a terrific fight and meaningful heavyweight fight and we didn't want to lose it. Tomasz was sick for a few days and now he is fine."

The winner of the fight will earn the No. 2 position in one of the sanctioning organization's rankings and move a step closer to a mandatory title shot at one of the belts held by heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
