Sherdog.com and Wikipedia have a May 30/14 listing for OneFC 16: Honor and Glory.....it's more likely he headlines this event if its happening as its a slightly more realistic turnaround time for Suzuki.

The card will feature a clash of two of the best heavyweights in the world when James McSweeney squares off against Chris Lokteff. Aung La N Sang will also make history as the first mixed martial artist from Myanmar to compete in the ONE FC cage when he takes on Egypt’s Mahmoud Salama. Filipina boxing champion Jujeath Nagaowa will also make her ONE FC debut when she meets Jeet Toshi of India.

James McSweeney is a top English mixed martial artist and kickboxer who have competed against some of the best heavyweights in the world, racking up numerous titles in the process. He is currently on the best streak of his career, with eight wins in his last ten fights. McSweeney is a proven finisher and have gone to a decision only once in twenty three fights.



Chris Lokteff is one of the top heavyweight prospects in the world. The Australian has amassed an impressive record of twelve wins and one loss at just 27 years of age. He made a remarkable ONE FC debut, convincingly defeating famed American wrestler Tony Johnson last November. He looks to extend his winning streak in ONE FC when he takes on the toughest test of his career in McSweeney. The ONE FC Heavyweight division remains without a champion and the winner of this bout will likely earn a spot in the inaugural title bout.



Aung La N Sang will be the first mixed martial artist of Myanmar descent to enter the ONE FC cage. He is a member of the Kachin, a group of indigenous people currently embroiled in civil war with the Myanmar army. He left Myanmar to study in the United States, where he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and subsequently, mixed martial arts. Aung is nicknamed “The Burmese Python” for his constricting ability which has led him to nine submission wins.



Mahmoud Salama is a veteran of the Egyptian mixed martial arts scene. He has never been defeated in his home country, racking up all four of his wins by TKO. Salama boasts power in both hands and will look to knock out any opponent standing in his way. This clash against Aung represents the classic striker against grappler matchup and the striker, Salama, seeks to emerge victorious in this matchup.



Jujeath Nagaowa will make history when she enters the ONE FC cage, becoming the first Filipina mixed martial artist in Asia’s largest mixed martial arts organization. The former WBC Asia Atomweight Champion will be making the transition from boxing with an impressive resume that features 12 professional victories. Nagaowa has nifty footwork that she uses to get out of her opponents’ punches and knockout power in both hands. She will be looking to demonstrate her boxing skills along with her newly acquired mixed martial arts techniques as she makes her ONE FC debut in front of her fellow countrymen.



Jeet Toshi is a seven time kickboxing champion from India. Her illustrious kickboxing career has led her to coaching and training stints in Bahrain and Australia. As the pioneer for female mixed martial arts in India, she has paved the way for more women in the populous country to participate in the sport, and will look to make a statement by emerging victorious in ONE FC: RISE OF HEROES.

This is shaping up to be a great card! I always love how ethnically diverse ONE FC events are too. Its one of the reasons why I love to follow their org. Much more interesting than the USA vs Brazil cards that the UFC puts out.

FIGHT TEASER: Rob Lisita vs Yusuke Kawanago


When Ruthless Rob Lisita enters the cage with Yusuke Kawanago on 2 May at ONE FC: RISE OF HEROES, it will be the second time these warriors will clash. Their first encounter did not end well for Lisita, but he has vowed that this fight will be different.

Will Lisita get his revenge? Or will Kawanago prove that his first victory was no fluke?

ONE FC definitely puts the "world" in world class fighters! It's very fun to see how different nations and cultures approach MMA and what they can do. I get the same feeling from Bellator too.

The feeling reminds me of the Street Fighter arcade games in that it's where different nationalities are represented through the fighters to find out who is the best in the world. It makes it more ceremonious.

Meanwhile watching UFC and other similar organizations gives me a feeling of watching soulless create-a-fighters from a bad xbox game.

Lisita Promises All-Action Fight vs Kawanago in One FC Rise of Heroes

Australian featherweight contender Rob “Ruthless” Lisita has promised a great, all-action fight against former Legend FC Featherweight champion Yusuke Kawanago, a battle “which the fans will truly enjoy,” on May 2 in ONE Fighting Championship’s Rise of Heroes at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

“Fans can expect ruthless aggression, a dog fight, a good scrap,” Lisita said as he seeks revenge against his former tormentor who won via a close decision when the two brawled in August 2012 under another MMA organization.

After that fight, which Lisita believed he won, the Australian has won three in a row, all by way of stoppage. In his last bout, he was the first fighter to ever beat Japanese mixed martial arts legend “Lion” Takeshi Inoue via stoppage.

He said MMA fans will enjoy it more this time. “Our first fight was good; we have both improved, we are gonna trade punches, and I always come to fight. It’s gonna be a great fight.”

Lisita sees his winning streak intact after May 2 as he predicts a victory over Kawanago. “I’m gonna put my fist on his chin and get my hand raised. I believe I have the power to knock him out; but it’s a fight anything can happen. I will do my best, and I think my best is better than his best

FIGHT TEASER: Gianni Subba vs Eugene Toquero  

In the co-main event of the evening, the much-anticipated rematch between “Ruthless” Rob Lisita and “Bancho” Yusuke Kawanago is all set. Both Lisita and Kawanago first met in Hong Kong at Legend FC 10 two years ago in a fight that entertained a lot of fans around the world. Kawanago came out victorious, beating the Austrialian by way of Unanimous Decision.
Another fight confirmed is between Team Lakay’s Rey “The Punisher” Docyogen and Countershot MMA’s Josh Alvarez. Docyogen is coming off a two-fight losing skid against two of the greatest Japanese flyweights today, Shinichi Kojima and Yasuhiro Urushitani. The Team Lakay flyweight standout looks to cement his first ONE FC win by taking on the Filipino American Alvarez. Alvarez made his ONE FC debut last December of 2013 against the very tough Japanese bantamweight fighter Koetsu Okazaki in Manila. He was impressive in the first round, showing his takedown defense and striking skills, but the game has changed in the second round where the Japanese fighter utilized his grappling and sunk in a deep rear naked choke at the 3:13 mark.
Alvarez will go down to the 125 pound limit for this fight and he is going to be a whole new different fighter according to his manager, Lloyd Cubacub, who also confirmed the match, saying, “Josh is training at MMA Lab in Glendale, Arizona for this fight. We will see a more motivated, in shape and mature Josh Alvarez.”
Another Team Lakay fighter who is one of the biggest names in Filipino MMA today, Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, is rumored by several sources to be making his seventh ONE FC appearance on the card.

15 April 2014 – Singapore: ONE Fighting Championship™ (ONE FC), Asia’s largest mixed martial arts organization with a 90% market share, has finalized the lineup for the blockbuster ONE FC: RISE OF HEROES event with the addition of a bout between boxing world champion Ana Julaton and Egyptian kickboxing champion Aya Saeid Saber.

Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton is the first Filipina boxer to win the women’s WBO Super Bantamweight and IBA Super Bantamweight World Championships. Julaton’s signing with ONE FC marks her first step to becoming a two-sport athlete. Her overpowering attacks in the ring earned her the nickname “The Hurricane” and made her a fan favorite in the Philippines. It took her only five professional bouts to win a championship in boxing and she hopes her mixed martial arts career will be equally successful.

Ana Julaton is excited to compete in the Philippines for the first time. She stated, "Aya Saber is an experienced MMA warrior and champion in kickboxing. I know she will bring her very best on May 2nd. I'm training for my ONE FC homecoming fight in Manila harder than ever before and what gives me strength through my ups and downs are the hearts of my Kababayon all over.”

Aya Saeid Saber is an Egyptian kickboxing champion who has conquered the kickboxing scene in the Middle East. Saber now sets her sights on scaling ONE FC’s highly competitive female circuit. She combines explosive kicks with steadily improving takedown skills.

This is a clash of striking styles and Saber is relishing her opportunity to upstage Julaton and upset the boxing world champion in front of her 20,000-strong Filipino home crowd.

Saber stated, “I am excited and honored to be the first female mixed martial artist from Egypt to compete in ONE FC. I can’t wait to get into the cage and beat Ana and make my fight team and family proud. Unlike Ana, I am not new to MMA. Be careful Ana, you are entering my world. I’m coming!”
