SHAWN PORTER CONFIRMS APRIL 19 TITLE DEFENSE AGAINST PAULIE MALIGNAGGI

As previously reported by FightHype.com, IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter will indeed defend his title against former champion Paulie Malignagi on April 19 at the DC Armory in Washington DC. Porter himself confirmed the news when he took to his social media pages and wrote, "Excited to announce my next casualty will be Paulie Malignaggi on April 19th at the DC Armory. Make sure to get tickets soon because ITS SHOWTIME!" The bout will take place on the undercard of the light heayvweight title unification between IBF champion Bernard Hopkins and WBA champion Beibut Shumenov.

Also on the card will be undefeaetd WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin defending his title against Lukas Konecny. It's unclear at this point exactly which fight will be the co-main event. That being said, boxing fans will be happy to know that Showtime is giving them another tripleheader.
