I bet he actually makes pretty good coin in Russia. He's had a number of fights there and is well known there and seems to be pretty well respected there. I think all his fights in Russia is a case of sound business, actually.

Atleast he's not taking 3 fights in 3 months LOL but monson is definitely on the downswing.

He's way past his best.

But, if you want to see a guy who's desperate and fighting for peanuts, look at a guy like Danny Williams (in boxing). That is, Mike Tyson conqueror (on Tyson's last hurrah comeback attempt) Danny Williams.

He's going around the world, fighting nobodies, and getting knocked out (all while being banned from boxing by the British Board of Boxing Control).

Monson has a franchise in Russia.

And MMA fighters typically don't take the damage that boxers do (with exceptions), and Monson's style of fighting is not one which involves taking a lot of concussive damage generally.

He's very well past his best, but as far as I'm aware he can still compete.

If the Russian promoters are paying him enough (and I think they are, given his Russian franchise), there's no reason not to fight. Who couldn't use some money?

His body is going to pay the price eventually hope he wins tho.

I actually didn't realize at all that Monson had lost his last 6 fights, 4 by KO/TKO, including the last 3 straight.

I guess I take back all I said.

Shows how up to speed I am with MMA these days.

Yeah monson has been taking more damage in the last 2 years then he has his entire career.

That's why I assumed he must need money because he's really looked like he's just going through the motions...

I dunno lets hope he gets a win
