Mon Oct 06, 2014 4:12 pm
DEEP is planning a collaborative MMA event with Shooto and Pancrase at Saitama Super Arena on NYE 2014.
So far Kitaoka and Yokota are rumoured to be on the card. Aoki stated he wants on the card as well.

There's also Inoki-Bom-Ba-Ye! But this is definitely far more attractive due to a better overall talent pool.

I used to love when they had the big Japanese NYE cards on AXS tv a few years ago. I recall one event being like eight hours or some crazy length.

Those were the good ol' days, where we'd get six legitimate mma fights, four freakshows, three K1 bouts, and the Koshien tournament.
Unfortunately, depth nowadays would at most allow ten great fights.

I guess it's a familiar brand but I didn't think they were actually operating.
Very risky but it's a move that needs to be done and DEEP is the promotion you'd want to be doing it. It seems like everyone has a good relationship and have been allowing numerous cross promotional bouts since the demise of DREAM and SRC.
This is very doable but do they have enough name value to make profit? Aoki x ISAO is probably the best fight you can make but will it resonate?

Also, is Bellator open to cross promoting with this? They have recently signed Tokoro after all.
Could you imagine what you could get out of that? Yokota vs Straus. Tokoro x Ishiwatari. Kitaoka x Held.

They are calling this DREAM 2014 NYE. Great to see the DREAM name on this.
Aoki vs. Isao would be a great fight to make.
Would be amazing if Bellator and Glory get involved with this. Get this live on SpikeTV and also same day prime time delay shortened down. AXS TV style 9 hour live MMA marathon NYE would be perfect.

I think this will trump the IGF show. Need to get soccer kicks and stomps on this one as well.

Those were the days. Hope we get that this year.
