Bellator will continue its run of tent-pole events in 2015 as the promotion is set to stage their tier one version of events on November 6, sources tell MMA Fighting. The event, titled Bellator 145: Vengeance.

The event will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between reigning champion Patricio Freire and former champion Daniel Straus. Both previously and most recently competed at Bellator 138, although not against one another. Pitbull was able to get past Daniel Weichel via second-round KO while Straus submitted Henry Corrales in the second round.

Freire and Straus have fought twice previously, however, with the Brazilian the victor both times. Straus dropped a unanimous decision to Freire at Bellator 45 in 2011 and was submitted in the fourth-round at Bellator 132 in January of this year.

In the co-main event, Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks will defend his title opposite leg lock expert Marcin Held. Brooks most recently competed at Bellator 136 in April where he bested Dave Jansen via unanimous decision. Held also competed at Bellator 136, submitting Alexander Sarnavskiy via kneebar in the third round.

Bellator staples Michael Chandler and Bobby Lashley are expected to compete on the card, but opponents for both fighters have not yet been made.

Pitbull while being victoious in his last 2 fights he was also almost finished in them.

Strauss is really good this isnt my fav fight but i don't mind it much.

Brooks vs held is gonna be a good one!!!

Biggest news to me is this is first "TENTPOLE" event not headlined by a geezer fight.

Im quite interested to see how they do numbers wise cuz every previous big show broke 1 million pkus viewers.

Brooks VS. Held is going to be good. I've been rooting for Held for a long time so I really hope he can bring the upset over Brooks and show Paul Harris how a classy foot & leg destroyer rolls.

Im rooting for held too but honestly i think brooks is gonna handle him.

Would be great to see Held lock on a leg sub on Brooks to win the belt.

They are calling this the "homegrown tentpole" on SWW. It is being carried by home grown stars and will be a guage of how far Bellator has come.

I really fucking wish Bellator would simultaneously air the broadcast on all time zones rather than fucking with the west coast/pacific time zone and forcing people who are interested, like myself, to stay away from social media for 3 FUCKING HOURS as if it were the plague just to avoid spoilers.

Regardless WAR PATRICIO AND MARCIN HELD!!! They are who I am rooting for though I wouldn't be mad if Brookes retains or Straus upsets. Pitbull VS. Straus 3 has a Wandy VS. Rampage vibe about it so I don't mind the matchmaking but I expect Patricio to retain his belt and face the winner of Weichel VS. Karakhanyan bout (which Weichel will win).
And you all know I've been rooting for and pushing Held for quite a while now, he's going to shock people - win or lose - tonight. His game to get towards the sub he desires has evolved past AND will continue to evolve past other specialist grapplers who've been highlighted throughout MMA's history. 

Held will be better than Aoki one day, I truly believe this.

Sanchez fought hard for a short camp and just in Lawrence looked good very close fight.

Kimbo Slice vs. Dada 5000 and Ken Shamrock vs. Royce Gracie just announced for the Pitch a Tent show.

Good show that showcased Bellator creations and up and comers. Kudos to Sanchez who fought four times this year and his second fight he took on short notice. Lashley looked good and hopefully can now move on as Bellator seems high on him but hopefully he'll get someone like Kongo, Spartian, or Johnson next. Chandler looked good but did what was expected. I like Brooks but I have more respect then ever after he showed no fear and good defense from Held's grappling. The main event was very entertaining and Straus put on a great performance. He needed to win to stay in contention or risk going into no man's land. He now becomes the first person to decisively defeat Patricio. I also liked the fight between Sakai and Huddleston. Huddleston will learn from this but I'm very happy Sakai won and he may be one of the most underrated prospects in Bellator. I like he showed maturity for an undefeated 24 year old.

Good fights tonight.  

Also, occasional freak show fights and legend fights are good if they help ratings. I don't have much an issue with that.

Can MMA become anymore low level than it already has? The reason many of us got into MMA was because we were keen martial artists who appreciated the skill of cross training and how the diciplines matched against each other...Now it's just world star hip hop level shitfest with Lashley crushing cans. So sick of MMA. Glory was way better

Will brooks injured his knee he had to go to ground....but it helps if you know what your talking about...(listen to his post fight interview)

Held popped brooks knee during one of the knee bar attempts it kept buckling so he had to wrestle which was impressive to control such a squirmy guy like held on the ground.



Emmanuel sanchez is one of my fav prospects in bellator great short notice win against a sharpe looking justin Lawrence im high on both these guys fun to watch.

Lashley flat out steamrolled colossus....the takedown hyper extended the knee and it was over from there powerful gnp a dominating performance against a guy who beat him in the past.Lashley is slimmer,quicker,more explosive and still learning hes becoming a very solid hw.

Straus owned pitbull....great fight,you can only get lucky so many times and tonight wasn't pitbulls night.Strauss is a great fighter glad he won he deserves some praise.

Great night of fights really fun to watch.

I didn't like the Brooks fight either but the Lashley and Chandler fights were good.  The matchmaking could definitely be better.  I want to see Lashely either fighting a top contender, like Johnson or Kongo next, or fighting Minakov for the belt. Overall though, I enjoyed the event, aside from Brooks fight.
