Hell of a fight, and a pretty damn good card.
I'm pulling for Cotto.
Alvarez is the favorite, and rightly so, but I'm thinking Cotto has a good shot. He is older, but he is always in shape. Canello actually has had a tendency to fade in the later rounds.
Cotto is able to be outboxed, and Canello may put the screws to him in that way.
I think Cotto is the proper underdog, but I'm pulling for him.
It's a great fight.

Cotto is a better boxer than Canelo is, but it will be interesting to see how he deals with Canelo's punches. Canelo has shitty stamina, and can't fight for a whole round. However, Cotto tends to fade down the stretch. It's a pretty intriguing fight that hopefully lives up to the hype.
Either way, the winner will hold the middleweight (160 pound) belt so he better fight Golovkin at 160. Canelo wants to fight Golovkin at 155, and I don't even think Cotto wants to fight him period. I can give Cotto a pass because he's just too small for Golovkin. Canelo is the same weight as Golovkin on fight nights, so there's no excuse there. And for that reason, I say fuck Canelo and go Cotto. But I think Canelo stops him between rounds 8-10.

seriously though, I hope Cotto pulls it off. Love watching that tough bastard.

Just a few days away.
My prediction is that Cotto will win by a late round ref stoppage.

Miguel Cotto’s trainer Freddie Roach continues to be the most quotable participant in the leadup to Cotto-Canelo. The Hall of Fame trainer sounds very optimistic that his fighter will overcome the 3:1 odds against him Saturday night against Canelo Alvarez.
“Miguel is stronger. His condition is great…I would love for Miguel to win this fight by knockout, call out Mayweather and then end his career. Miguel always tells me that if he had me in his corner when he fought Mayweather he would have knocked him out. He tells me that story all the time. I think Miguel could pull off the strategy I have to beat Mayweather. I think that would be a good fight for him. I think I could put Miguel in a very aggressive mode.
“We are going to box a lot in this fight. We’re not just going out there looking for a knockout. I don’t want him doing that. I want him using his foot speed and his angles. He’s a more complete fighter now than ever.
“Canelo’s defense is terrible. He follows you wherever you go. He’s like a robot. If you use angles on him, he will be lost. He cannot make adjustments well.
“We need a fight like this. It’s great for the sport.”

War Cotto.
I think Alvarez is the proper favorite, but I've followed Cotto for a long time.
I think Cotto has a real shot.
Alvarez will probably win, but Cotto is a good fighter, and he can potentially pull it off.

Cotto's best shot is to outbox Alvarez.
Not an easy task.
Alvarez is a good boxer.
I think he will likely overwhelm Cotto with his activity.
Cotto could win with effective counterpunching.
It's an uphill climb.
I expect Alvarez to win.
The heart is with Cotto.

Cotto outboxed Mosely.
He could pull it off, ala Hopkins-Pavlik (different fights, but vet vs young gun all the same).

Anyone else think the Miura stoppage was a little hasty?

Maybe should've given him another 8 count but he was getting lit up, probably better for his health, awesome fight though.
