M-1 Global launches Gran Prix 2016 Tournament series
Sat Jan 16, 2016 1:20 pm
M-1 Global officially announces M-1 Gran Prix 2016 Tournament series launch.
"We were preparing this long ago, - says M-1 President Vadim Finkelchtein, - And now we're happy to announce that we officially restart M-1 Gran Prix Tournaments. This is a very popular format and fans are always excited about it. For this time we will make a 4-men tournament, not usual for 8-men. The 4-men tournament will be more faster and entertaining, as we don't want to bore people with long expectation periods and secure our tournament from occasional injuries and change of fighters

Good question. Last year they did 10 events, the year before they did 17, and the year before that 13 so probably somewhere around 10 - 12 I would guess.

They are the biggestimate promo in Russia right? Does anyone think Fight Nights will be bigger? I mean a lot of M1 talent leaving for UFC and Bellator; also Fight Nights getting on Fight Pass and co-promoting with Rizin.

M-1 is very strong in Russia but they don´t take the step to the next level. Vadim doesn´t want to overspend, which is wise, but he needs to go after bigger names or another promotion might surpass them.InfinityLens wrote:They are the biggestimate promo in Russia right?
