K-1 should be HW only. Right now it´s the other way around and people in general don´t care about the smaller weight classes.

The masses won't care, but this tournament looks legit. I'll def check it out

That is a great way to build new stars. We can only hope.
This card should be pretty good though. I hope their is a stream.

It is great to have k1 around but it ain't the same as what it was in the past Im not knocking the k1 of today but it is like when a popular band lead singer dies the band can continue but it is not the same . Still a great card and hopefully a great night of fights it is great to see some high level striking .

Here are the results since I didn't see anyone online in the middle of the night.

Noiri, Hiroya, and Yamazaki all scored KOs in the quarter finals, while Kubo won a decision. Noiri and Kimura was a very fast paced fight, definitely worth watching.
Noiri and Hiroya had a great fight in the semi-finals. Hiroya looked good, he just can't ever seem to get past Noiri. Noiri got the decision, but I beleive it should have gone an extra round. Hiroya really pressured him and threw a lot of volume punches, even though many were blocked. Noiri countered with a good mix of punches and knees and moved on to the finals.
The other semi-final saw Kubo get a knock down in the first round when he clipped Yamazaki, but didn't really hurt him. Kubo played it safe in the second round. Yamazaki started to turn it up knowing he was down on the cards and came out really aggressive. In round 3 he scored a knockdown with what looked like a stepping hook kick to even things up. There was little time left and Kubo was looking to just clinch and wait out the round, but Yamazaki caught him again with that kick and got the second knockdown and the TKO under tournament rules.
The non-title super fights were interesting. Wolf won a decision over Urabe. Urabe just never really got going in this fight. The action really had nothing notable, however it was nice to see K-1 with honest judging in Japan for once. The same for the Kaew fight. He won by split decision. I thought he won clearly. It did show they let the judges be objective and didn't try to hand gift decisions to their champions.
The final match was exciting as well. Yamazaki came out really aggressive and put it on Noiri. I'm not sure if it was a unanimous or majority decision because it was all in Japanese. Yamazaki clearly won. I wouldn't have been upset with an extra round through.
All in all, it was a good card. The NicoNico system was a pain in the ass to use so I hope it is more accessble to watch in the future.

I really like what K-1 is doing here. They are building a strong brand again with tournaments and divisional champions. I remember the old HW tournaments when they held the Japan GP and it was such a big tournament that the winner would get to skip the final 16 eliminator and go right to the final 8. I think it helped guarantee a Japanese fighter in the final tournament, as well as help build a local fanbase and get the Japanese fighters tournament experience so they can be more competitive against the European fighters. I really hope they do a world GP this year with the winner of this tournament qualifying and hopefully Johanness Wolf will qualify as well. This is what they need to do to build kickboxing in Japan again. Similarly to how Rizin is brining in fighters from all over the world, but also appealing to the Japanese market which has gone through tough times. Hopefully, this year can be the start of the revival of K-1 rules and MMA in the ring in Japan with huge shows and tournaments
