ROAD FC announce that the vacant Bantamweight title will be contested for by Kim Soo-Chul and Kim Min-Woo on April 15, 2017 in Seoul, South Korea.

Kim Soo-Chul (15-5-1, Team Force) is considered to be the top bantamweight in Asia today. In the past 3 years he has gone undefeated over multiple UFC veterans and regional champions including Marcus Brimage, Maike Linhares, and Jumabieke. This will be the first time Kim Soo-Chul is fighting for a title since he lost the One FC strap to the legendary Bibiano Fernandes by Decision in a 5-round match in 2013.

Kim Min-Woo (8-1, MMA Story) is from a team that holds two champions on the ROAD FC Roster already: Coach Cha Jung-Hwan is the Middleweight title holder and Choi Mu-Gyeom is the 3x defending Featherweight champ. Kim Min-Woo is riding a 3-fight win streak over Japanese powerhouse Sato Shoko, fellow challenger Moon Je-Hoon (an avenge win), and former Shooto champ Nezu Yuta – by a 15 second KO. His precision is increasing with each outing.

At ROAD FC 38 on April 15, the China Trials Finals will take place which will see two winners from a field of eight fighters finally seeded in the 16-man opening round of the $1 Million Tournament. Also, Group B of the International Trials will be held, comprised of three matches to yield three additional seeds. Former ROAD FC Lightweight Champion Nam Yui-Chul will return to fighting in Korea by participating in this group of the Trials.

Nam Yui-Chul (18-6-1, Team Posse) began his promising MMA career by going undefeated and winning the Spirit MC 70kg Championship in 2006. He then competed in M-1 and Legend FC, and fought on the very first ROAD FC card in 2010. Nam won the ROAD FC Lightweight title by defeating Masahiro Toryu, Vuyisile Colossa and current Pancrase King Kume Takasuke in the 2012-13 Lightweight Tournament.

ROAD Fighting Championship announces the first match for Group B of the International Trials for the $1 Million Tournament: Bruno Miranda versus Nandin-Erdene.

Bruno Miranda (9-2, Tiger Muay Thai) is a Muay Thai stylist who came back from his first loss in ROAD FC in a title contender's bout to finish Kim Seung-Yeon in devastating style. With knockouts over Kim Wong-Gi and Lee Kwang-Hee, and a submission of Jung Doo-Jae, Miranda has put himself at the top of the lightweight division.

Nandin-Erdene Munguntsooj (5-2, Team Fighter) is a fan favorite striker who has seen a phenomenal uptick in his MMA career. He is undefeated in his last three fights, starting with a decision over China's standout Bao Yincang and ending with his stunning first round one minute KO of veteran Park Won-Sik.

Nam Yui-Chul (18-6-1, Sanae Nam MMA) As one of the first generation of Korean fighters, Nam won the Spirit MC 70kg title in 2006, then ground his way through opposition in M-1 and Legend FC, where he fought Jadamba Narantungulag for the belt. Back in ROAD FC in 2013, he then tore through the Lightweight Tournament to become the Champion, defending once successfully. Against Kazuki Tokudome in the UFC, Nam won Fight of the Night Honors. Following a 3-fight tour in the UFC, the former ROAD FC Lightweight Champion finally returns home.

Mike Bronzoulis (18-9-1, Paradigm Training Center) is the last Legacy FC Lightweight Champion as well as the former LFC belt holder at welterweight. In his ten-year career, Bronzoulis competed in Strikeforce and Bellator, where he ended up as a finalist on the TUF predecessor Fightmaster on Spike TV. Ki Won-Bin (6-2, Team Posse) won his reserve match for the Trials with a one minute KO. Xiaomi ROAD FC 038 main card finalized with Myung Hyun-Man vs Chris Barnett

Myung Hyun-Man (3-3, Team Gangnam/Apgujeong Gym) is a heavyweight Muay Thai standout of over 30 wins who transitioned to MMA in 2013. He KOed Liang Lingyu in the 2015 ROAD FC Openweight Tournament quarterfinals and met Mighty Mo in the semis. The fight nearly went the distance with a thrilling stand up display from both knockout artists, but Mo got the submission win on the canvas in the third. It was a repetition – if unpredictable - result when Myung met Cro Cop in RIZIN. Now he's ready to redeem himself in the cage once more.

Chris “Huggy Bear” Barnett (15-3, Barnett Taekwondo Academy) is one of the toughest men to hit the Asian MMA scene in the last 3 years. In his US career he KOed Kenny Garner and Travis Wiuff amongst others his 90% knockout finish stats. Barnett's only losses were to Eric Prindle, Oli Thompson, and a contentious split to Kirill Sidelnikov in RIZIN. Barnett is going to show Korea what a Taekwondo background can accomplish for a heavyweight fighter.

As previously announced, Nam Yui-Chul (18-6-1, Sanae Nam MMA) was set to return to fighting in Korea with his trials match for the ROAD FC $1 Million Lightweight Tournament against Legacy Champion Mike Bronzoulis (18-9-1, Revolution). Unfortunately, a personal matter has prevented Bronzoulis from arriving in time for the event.

The short notice replacement will be Tom Santos (8-3, Brazilian Thai). He has a Muay Thai and kickboxing record of 10-2 in Brazil and Japan. In Brazil, Santos is the MMA Dragon Fight Champion, and in his new home of Japan he is the kickboxing S-Battle Champion. Santos has a very strong and exciting Muay Thai style and a good grappling base.
