Awesome. Truly a legendary match between two monsters of boxing. I watched their fights but the first one's the best IMO. Frazier became one of my favs.

Great 15 round battle between Sal Sanchez & a green Azumah Nelson who would go on to do great things in the ring himself.

According to Azumah he took this fight on a 2 week notice and still gave Sanchez a very tough battle.

This was also Sal Sanchez's last fight and fittingly enough it was a great fight. He died about 3 weeks later in a car crash at the young age of 23 when he was driving back early morning after visiting a mistress of his.

A very good 15 round technical battle on June 8 1985 for the WBA Featherweight belt, one of the biggest fights in European & British Boxing history at that time.

Eusebio was undefeated for 9 years coming into this fight.

You can find more background info for this fight in this article:

Prelude

By the end on 1985 John "The Beast" Magabi was on a knockout win streak of 26 in a row. Because of this and because of Hagler's tough battle with Hearns on April of 1985, many fans thought Mugabi had a chance to be the man to take Hagler's World Middleweight title away.
The fight between Hagler and Mugabi was set up for November 14 of 1985. Hagler, however, had a back injury and the fight had to be postponed until the next year.
Bout Summary

The fight finally came up on March 10, 1986, and it was the first fight televised by Showtime. Mugabi landed his share of blows to Hagler's head, and had the better of the early rounds. The turning point came in the sixth round, when Hagler landed many heavy blows and staggered Mugabi. Mugabi fought back gamely, but his early knockout wins left him ill prepared for a long tough fight. In the end it was Hagler who came out as the winner, with a knockout in eleven rounds. Many boxing fans consider this to have been the toughest contest of Hagler's career, as after the fight both boxers urinated blood and were hospitalized.

Those 2 are great fights, in the top 5 of the last decade.

I thought Barrera won that fight though.

Unfortunately a couple of rounds are missing (e.g. round 5), I can't find the full fight yet.
Today, Sept. 23rd, 2002, is the 50th anniversary of Rocky Marciano taking the heavyweight crown from Jersey Joe Walcott with a 13th round, come-from-behind knockout. It was the kind of win that makes a champion, one punch changing the course of heavyweight history.

Champion Joe Walcott, though 37 years old, was in excellent shape and by all accounts of the time was considered a late-bloomer, a fighter with a late prime, such as Lennox Lewis is showing. Marciano was considered a strong, tough, but crude brawler who stood little chance to beat the slick Walcott in the opinions of many of the experts of the time. For those who don't know of Walcott, or just know his age when he lost to Marciano, and think that tells all you need to know, read up on the man. He was a superb boxer. He did a baffling move with his feet called the Walcott
Shuffle, which Ali would copy and rename. It was a shift of his feet, first one, then the other leading. He didn't change from righty to southpaw as some try now, but he confused his opponents with his footwork. His grandson says even Bruce Lee studied films of Walcott for the way he moved his feet. Watch a film of Jersey Joe, then a Bruce Lee film and you can see the similarity...

Great heavyweight fight between David Tua and Ike Ibeabuchi. This fight set a CompuBox record for most combined punches thrown in a heavyweight fight (1,730).Ibeabuchi set an individual record for punches thrown in a heavyweight fight (975).

I used to give this as an example when UFC fans used to cite Carwin being a HW for him gassing out like a bum in 5 mins from throwing downward punches in the Lesnar fight (that fight was embarrassing for something so hyped).

Two ATG's Eder Jofre and Fighting Harada.

http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Eder_Jofre_vs._Fighting_Harada_(1st_meeting)

Harada perhaps the greatest Japanese Boxer of all time and a huge celebrity in his day pulling in massive ratings.

Jofre the greatest Brazilian Boxer & considered the # 1 Bantamweight.

Both his losses came from Harada, in the rematch Harada won the decision again but there was some controversy about that decision (I haven't ever seen that fight yet).

But its also available now on youtube (a real boon for Boxing fans & combat sport fans in general):

Full fight is uploaded at the profile.

The great Monzon takes on Nino Benvenuti for the MW crown in 1970, few expected him to beat Nino and few knew of him at that time.

Ring Magazine FOTY for 1970.

They would meet again in 1971 and this time Nino's corner throws in the towel in round 3.

Full fight at the profile.

One of the best LHW fights of all time & Ring Magazine FOTY for 1972.

Natural LW, past his prime & as an underdog Duran wins the WBC MW belt in a close & exciting battle against Iran Barkley (who just starched Hearns in round 3 in 1988 to win the WBC MW belt).

The famous fight & the controversial decision which seem to have turned Hagler very bitter (he was a commentator for Leonard vs Hearns II & who he was rooting for in that fight was very obvious).

Hagler asked for a rematch soon after but was denied, Leonard offered it to him sometime in 1990 but by then Hagler had retired, moved to Italy, and lost interest in fighting so it never happened.

Duran avenges his only loss as a LW to De Jesus (by points in 1972) decisively in 1974.

For the WBA LW belt.

One of the best fights I ever saw, sad to see a great champ like Arguello laid out like that though.

Was also controversial because of this:

"The infamous "black bottle" fight, in which, Pryor's trainer, Panama Lewis, was recorded after the 13th round asking for a bottle of liquid, "the one I mixed", to be given to Pryor before the 14th round. Adding to the controversy, the Miami Boxing Commission failed to administer a post-fight urine test."

Their rematch ended with a similar result but was also another good fight:

They became good friends outside the ring though & I believe Pryor even campaigned for Alexis in Nicaragua when he was running for some public office position.

I find it hard to believe that Alexis killed himself, seems shady.

A true ATG & one of the classiest guys to ever step into the Boxing ring.

18 year old Duran in May 1970 stops Ernest Marcel (only stoppage of Marcel's career) who would later become the WBA Featherweight champ with 4 defenses, the 4th & final defense being against the great Alexis Arguello in which he won a UD over 15 rounds, then he retired with a 40-4-2 record.

The quality of the footage is not good but the fight is action packed & you can see the budding legend that was to be Duran in action.

Youtube and internet have been a real boon for Boxing & other combat sports, before the internet era fights like this would have been virtually impossible to find for most people, now they are at your fingertip. I tried to find some old UFC & Pride fights that used to be on youtube but looks like they have all been removed at Zuffa's insistence, their loss because very few especially first time fans are gonna go out & buy DVDs to see these old fights. So they are driving away potential fans.

Rest of the rounds here:

Duran moved up to WW and took on Palomino who just lost his WBC Welterweight belt to Wilfredo Benitez in a split decision. The fight happened on June 22, 1979.

Plenty of action.

One of Monzon's best performances & also his last fight.

Misowaman here has a sig "The Jab is The Law", this fight & Monzon's fights in general are a great testament to the effectiveness of a good jab.

Monzon here was defending the MW title for the 14th time against a very good fighter in Valdez over whom he won a UD a year earlier in 1976.

Rest of the rounds along with their first fight can be found here:

https://www.youtube.com/user/fagiu/videos?query=Carlos+Monzon+vs+Rodrigo+Valdez+II+

But round 6 is missing from this uploader, plus rounds 5 & 7 seem to have some stuff cut out, so watch them here though quality is not as good:

Missing round 11:

“I always loved Carlos Monzón. He was a tough guy, for real, a guy from the streets. He didn’t talk much. He didn’t need to. The ring belonged to him...”
- Mike Tyson
