As usual despite the other fights on the card they have to focus on this one.

On the flip side they think that if the ufc shut down then mma will die if that's the case then mma is a fad sport or they're not real fans I say the latter.

Why would MMA die if UFC shut down? You have many promotions in America that would do fine and how would UFC affect other countries? Why would any company in Japan or the UK or KSW or M-1, etc. shut down? Do they not realize MMA didn't begin with The UFC? Hell, Japanese MMA went into a recession when PRIDE went under but it didn't die as DEEP, Pancrase, and Shooto kept going while Sengoku and DREAM were around and now we got Rizin. If JMMA can keep going after PRIDE then what makes them think American MMA or Global MMA won't without UFC. If anything, MMA would probably get stronger as you wouldn't have a clear #1 promotion that acts like a parasite and raid promotions of talent or smears them or controls the media. Not to mention, maybe the casuals would actually start calling the sport by it's name.

Yeah, which is ironic cause the UFC have been doing horrible. WME got scammed into paying 4 Billion and who knows how long they'll keep it or shut it down if they don't collect on that soon. Not to mention that UFC is down across the board as TV ratings aren't that great and outside of Jones, McGregor, Rousey, and GSP, the PPV buyrates are extremely bad, they're struggling to build new stars, fighters are flunking USADA tests left and right including top fighters that UFC have said are the best in the world, and politics & corruption have gotten worse than boxing with fighters in contract disputes or champions refusing to face top competition in favor of money fights with the inmates now running the asylum, and now they have to renew their TV deal but you can bet they'll have to except a massive pay cut compared to what they got when they signed with FOX in 2011.

Yeah it is piss weak how they call mma Ufc, if the ufc did shut down apart from the mma will get stronger bit, it would get rid of the fake fans.

I don't know anything special, but I've always felt Rizin is solid.
The Japanese public is a very valuable entertainment market. Rizin has focused on managing one successful event at a time, and steadily progressing. I think it's been a conservative and seemingly successful model.

I think that's a good thing. It seems like the big promotions want to have so many shows and oversaturate.

OH yeah mma is better when it is not over saturated with rizin 8-10 events per year will be great though, I wouldn't call 8-10 events per year as over saturated.

I think the idea as a start up was to be profitable from the start and do so with basically stand alone events, with graduate promotion of emergent stars, and also the tournaments causing some cohesion.

I will also add too people will say uh it won't work why? Because said ufc champion might get beaten by somebody in that division from another organization?

The UFC has never had a monopoly on top talent.
But even if we say they did once for the sake of argument while UFC was at it's height in terms of space competitors, that time is now past. There are too many fighters around the world for any organization to have a control of talent.
MMA might gradually be sort of going the way of boxing, in that it is different promoters who put on the shows, and there are potentially more opportunities for fighters.

True they do not I mean you count the many times fighters from a so called "b level" organization came over and won the ufc belt. With the ufc it is not us who they are trying to convince it is the casual and the people who started watching when McGregor came on the scene I do digress there are hard core ufc fans who let's be real are the worst ones.

RIZIN Fighting Federation held a press conference announcing additional 4 bouts for the anticipated 3-day NYE extravaganza, a wide variety of fighters from JMMA veterans UFC veterans, Lethwei champions, Judo National Team members lined up in the press conference.
Kiichi Kunimoto (18-7-2-1) will be the 2nd UFC veteran on the RIZIN card after Takanori Gomi was announced to be fighting Yusuke Yachi. Strasser will be facing the now became RIZN’s gate keeper Satoru Kitaoka (40-15-9) at a 75kg catch weight. “I used to have some beef with Kitaoka, so I am very happy to get this opportunity, and I know that Gomi and Yachi are fighting at 72kg. I can work my way down to 72kg and make this division great, so I plan to beat Kitaoka and move on.” Kitaoka responded “I don’t remember anything, it’s a fight, I don’t care about anything else.” Kitaoka will be going up 5kg to face the former UFC fighter, but looked determined to keep his character and performance at its highest. The fight will be kicking off the 3 day extravaganza as chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara has announced this fight to be the first fight for December 29th.
Hiroyuki Takaya (22-14-2) will be returning to the RIZIN after 2 years, his last appearance in RIZIN was a fun scrap against Daiki Hata, and freshly coming off of a spectacular knockout win against Hatsu Hioki in Pancrase. The Shooto and DREAM veteran will be facing a young Mongolian prospect Baataryn Azjavkhlan (2-2). Despite his lack of MMA experience the young prospect has been recommended by former Yokozuna Asashoryu for his significant accomplishments in wrestling and his grappling skills along with his warrior mentality. The first ever Mongolian fighter in RIZIN looks for the upset and a solid position in the roster.
RIZIN’s first attempt in holding a one night kickboxing tournament has been solidified with Tenshin Nasukawa getting an opponent through a public offering campaign. RIZIN FF asked the public for participants who would like to face the 19 year old Phenom, and Chairman Sakakibara announced that they have received more than 30 applicants, and Yuta Hamamoto was one of the very first ones to have applied. Not to mention his significant accomplishments in the kick boxing world, he is also the first ever Japanese
Lethwei champion, the most brutal combat sport which allows the fighters to fight without gloves and allows elbows and head-butts. “I have been wanting to fight Nasukawa for quite a while now, I have been calling him out and I do believe that I have what it takes to beat this kid. I have the heart of a warrior, and I will stand up no matter how many times I get knocked down.” Said the highly motivated and Lethwei champion. Nasukawa responded “It looks like he is super motivated to fight me, and I guess he is already expecting to be knocked down. Good luck to you. I’m going to do what I always do and beat the guy put in front of me.” The winner of this bout will be facing the winner of KOP Mitsuhisa Sunabe vs Boxing elite Yamato Fujita. The kick boxing bouts will consist in a 3 x 3 minute rounds with a “1 catch 1 attack” rules. Fighters will not be allowed to throw more than 1 blow in the clinch.
JMMA’s women’s pioneer Shizuka Sugiyama (15-4-1) will be facing a Judo elite and MMA newcomer Kana Wataabe (1-0) in a 57kg weight bout.
