The bout didn't do that many ppv 380k
1 they are doing too many events too many interim title fights and are only barracking for certain fighters.
2 it is good news for us because that means other organisations can grow and can become A huge rivals to the ufc B take over the ufc.
Problem is that Pay-Per-View is a dinosaur. Too many people by now know how to watch streams so there's no point in paying $60. UFC should've been like WWE and used Fight Pass like the WWE Network where they hold their events there and should've gotten off Pay-Per-View. UFC should've transitioned out of Pay-Per-View years ago but didn't and now they're paying for it. It doesn't help Bellator and PFL are on free TV while ONE and RIZIN can be watched on a computer much cheaper.
I agree. UFC puts on way too many PPVs. A $60 PPV should be saved for a few massive stacked cards each year at most.

UFC is also tanking in the ratings.
https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2018/7/29/17627564/ufc-on-fox-30-early-viewership-numbers-all-time-low-at-1-46-million-mma-news?utm_campaign=bloodyelbow&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
The card was solid and this isn't the final number but one thing is for sure and that's the UFC isn't drawing much interest in either Pay-Per-View or TV. It's so rudderless right now.

It is amazing what happens when
1 the ufc over saturates it self
2 when they can't buy out a rival promotion.

There rating numbers were bad for this good card. They are probably really hoping the ESPN deal turns things around for them but most of those cards will be on ESPN+ with the big shows airing on ESPN and probably ESPN 2. Cracks are really showing in the UFC product.

Even a former champion is saying something about fighter pay. Yes you do have to put butts in seats i admit that Yet dana blows 100k plus at black jack owns tons of sports cars and Christ knows what the other big wigs splurge on. Also im sick of the notion of when a fighter complains about pay you have dick heads on the internet saying "uh stop bitching".

I found this interesting dana admits other orgs are paying more.
You would think the supposed biggest and best organisation in the mma world could out bid and pay more then anyone?.

I know right there is nothing wrong with giving your kid a birthday party but a million why would a 16 year old need a million dollar party?.Rocksoldier84 wrote:westcott123 wrote:https://www.mmamania.com/2018/6/6/17433538/dana-white-just-admitted-other-promotions-now-paying-more-than-ufc-mma

Why do you need to bring trash bags of money to casinos and blow a million in one night of gambling? Why do you reportedly tip waiters as much as $10,000? Why do import snow to your Las Vegas home? Why do you need a "Neverland for Hillbillies" as Din Thomas put it where you buy land in Maine where you keep sports cars, motorcycles, guns, and toys? Even if you do need this, why flaunt is around over the years when you and the promotion you help run are notoriously cheap to the fighters?
Again, I don't blame anyone for spending their money so long as they're not hurting anyone but when you have these pay controversies, you think you try to not bring up your extravagant spending. I'm sure the other promoter's live comfortably but you don't see them throwing money around like Dana does.

^^ that is all true while i don't have anything against dana earning money the fact that they're fighters who have to work another job to while they earn just 10 k fighting .
Like you said you don't see Scott coker, victor qui, nobuyuki sakkikabarra flaunting it.
What i find amazing is how any time fighters do go on about pay you have people who just say "uh stop bitching" "you signed the contract".
It is amazing of how an organisation and it's president get more fan support then the actual fighters.

To be fair, I will have to criticize some fighters though. While thankfully it's not like it anymore, how many fighters were obsessed with going to the UFC to the point where they would sign any contract put in front of them? Sadly, I think many fighters didn't realize what they were getting themselves into. They just saw a UFC contract and probably didn't even go through it with a lawyer or read it before signing. There was a time and there still are fighters out there who would sign a UFC deal even if there was a clause where the UFC gets their soul.

Yup and to a lot of fighters credit, they're doing it. They're exploring their options and even if they stay with UFC, they're making sure UFC has to match the other offers and make it worth the fighters worth.
