A historic main event boxing bout has been announced for ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES on Saturday, 6 October.
The reigning WBC Super Flyweight World Champion Wisaksil Wangek of Thailand will defend his title against Mexico’s Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz.
With a professional record of 46-4-1, including 41 knockouts, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is one of the greatest boxers on the planet – and in Thailand’s history.
He made headlines across the globe last year when he defeated the sport’s number one pound-for-pound athlete, Roman Gonzalez, by majority decision to win the prestigious WBC Super Flyweight World Title for the second time.
Diaz holds a professional record of 14-2-3, with six knockouts. His notable victories include unanimous decisions against former world champions Hernan “Tyson” Marquez and Luis Concepcion.
In the co main event A Kickboxing World Title Defense
“Killer Bee” Kai Ting Chuang (17-5) will be back in action in Bangkok to defend her newly-won ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship.
After claiming the inaugural women’s ONE Super Series belt against Yodcherry Sityodtong in July, she will return to compete against another MuaThai athlete for her first defense.
In the blue corner, Stamp Fairtex (60-15-5) will welcome the World Champion to her home nation of Thailand. The product of the world-famous academy in Pattaya made a successful mixed martial arts debut in Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series, but will return to striking-only rules to compete for gold.
Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki will face Ev “E.T.” Ting. The bout will serve as a ONE Lightweight World Title eliminator, with the winner moving on to face the division’s reigning champion at a later date.
Aoki, a former ONE Lightweight World Champion, has made an excellent start to 2018. He defeated Marat “Cobra” Gafurov in a grappling super-match in January, and then returned to mixed martial arts competition.
He cemented his position as one of the division’s top contenders with a spectacular first-round submission of Rasul Yakhyaev in May, before his stunning first-round TKO of Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai in July.
Since unsuccessfully challenging for the ONE Lightweight World Title last May, Ting has been on a tear. The Malaysian-born Kiwi is currently riding a three-bout win streak over former ONE Welterweight World Champion Nobutatsu Suzuki, Ariel “Tarzan” Sexton, and Koji “The Commander” Ando to re-enter World Title contention.

I can't believe they are having a world boxing title fight to headline. And Wisaksil Wangek is a pretty big name, having twice beat Roman Gonzalez, then Juan Francisco Estrada, in back-to-back-to-back HBO headliners. The card is stacked top-to-bottom, but I was surprised in particular about the main event when I first heard of it.

Yeah, it's pretty cool they have a kickboxing, MMA, and boxing cross-over on this card. Another ring event too which is awesome.
