Details on Golden Glory's role in FIKA, and Semmy Schilt is unhappy with Golden Glory Empty Details on Golden Glory's role in FIKA, and Semmy Schilt is unhappy with Golden Glory

So there is still no news about FIKA yet since the original press release and press conference that they held. There was pomp and lots of circumstances involved, lots of celebrities and amongst the sea of new Chinese investors, actors and Master Ishii, Sem Schilt and Bas Boon stood out in an event without any Europeans. LiverKick.com has been talking to a lot of people close to FIKA and Golden Glory, and by the sounds of it, we should know more "before Christmas." Sure, it is not an exact date by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd rather hear a vague outline of what is being worked on than a date that cannot be met.

We were talking with our friend in Europe Karel ten Haaf who runs the Kortsluiting blog who was able to confirm that mid-December is when we should have more details on FIKA and Golden Glory's involvement. Due to all of this, the next Glory World Series event might not happen until February 28th and the involvement of Semmy Schilt? That might not be entirely clear, either.

Karel spoke with Dave Jonkers, Sem Schilt's coach about Schilt's involvement, and it really does not seem all that clear what is going on with Schilt. Schilt has two films that he has worked on this year, Novalaya Zemyla and Black Out, with the first being a much bigger role. But when it comes to fighting, due to Golden Glory's involvement in K-1, Schilt apparently will not fight for either Golden Glory or K-1 until he sees the money that he is owed. This is a new development, especially with as little as a month ago Schilt was in China for the FIKA announcement. This is not the first time we've heard of someone under the management of Golden Glory being upset with them this year, but like the rest, hopefully it is resolved soon and everything can get back in motion.

Video:Semmy Schilt Discusses His movies, FIKA/K-1,MMA

Semmy Schilt, the four time K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, sat down with FightStarTV to discuss what he's been up to lately and what he thinks of the new FIKA, along with a little discussion about himself in MMA. Semmy hasn't fought in almost a year, last losing to Peter Aerts in the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix semi-finals. He says some pretty promising things about FIKA that are good to hear.

Dave Jonkers talks Semmy Schilt Clears air GG and Sem Are Okay

Sem Schilt's coach Dave Jonkers spoke with the fine folks behind Short Circuit the other day, and was talking about Sem Schilt's financial situation at the moment and how he is owed a good chunk of money from K-1. As expected, Semmy Schilt will not fight for K-1 until he is paid, as he should. As can happen with interviews done via email, if you aren't exceedingly clear about your intentions, it can read much, much differently. Without a doubt there have been rumors of unrest within Golden Glory over the last six months or so, a lot of it having to do with a few business deals that have yet to materialize, including the K-1 deal.

Jonkers was quoted saying that Semmy does not fight until he gets paid, until there are financial reparations made for him. This was directly after a question about the Glory World Series and Semmy participating in that next event. It is fair enough to believe that Semmy not fighting would not simply be in K-1, but Glory World Series as well. If he wouldn't fight for his own management, it is very easy to imply that Schilt is unhappy with them. Jonkers was quick to correct the next day, saying that Semmy and Golden Glory are not at all on uncertain terms, the only uncertainty is the date of the next event and if Semmy will fight on that card, or if K-1 will pay up and he'll fight for them instead some time soon.
