Mon Jul 23, 2012 8:54 pm
Bellator Fighting Championships continues to target top international prospects to fill its ranks, and lightweights Magomedrasul Khasbulaev (15-5 MMA, 0-0 BFC) and Akop Stepanyan (11-3 MMA, 0-0 BFC) are the latest two additions to the promotion.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the signings with sources close to the fighters.
Bellator executives have yet to officially announce the new contracts or expected debut appearances for the two fighters.
Stepanyan made his professional debut and April 2009 and opened his career with three-straight losses. However, he's since put together 11-consecutive wins, seven of which have come via stoppage. The RusFighters Sport Club fighter has earned three victories in 2012. Two of the results came via knockout while one was earned via decision.
Khasbulaev is a 25-year-old Russian who is 6-1 in his past seven fights. A 10-time M-1 Global veteran, Khasbulaev has fought to a decision just twice in 20 career bouts, and 13 of his professional victories have come in the first round.
Currently in the middle of its "Summer Series" schedule, Bellator's next live event is Bellator 73, which takes place Aug. 23 at Harrah's Tunica Hotel and Casino in Tunica, Miss.

Bellator scouting team is by far superior than the UFC, despite have less money. I just hope they don't cut this fighters after one loss like Masakatsu Ueda and Mikhail Malyutin.

Yeah their scouting team is top notch. The good thing is that if the fighter is cut they can go to M-1bolsheet wrote:Bellator scouting team is by far superior than the UFC, despite have less money. I just hope they don't cut this fighters after one loss like Masakatsu Ueda and Mikhail Malyutin.

Bellator's lighter divisions are their strongest IMO, I feel they need to be able to cycle through new fighters in order to honestly find the best contenders for their champs. And obviously financially they can't just keep everyone they sign, scoring some bigger names lately like Daley and King Mo must put a dent in their spending abilities for talent.
