Bellator’s seventh-season heavyweight tournament field is now nearly complete, as Ron Sparks will meet Mark Godbeer on Oct. 5 at Bellator 75.


Three of four heavyweight tournament quarterfinal pairings are now known, as bouts pitting Eric Prindle against Thiago Santos and Brett Rogers against Ruslan Magomedov were previously announced. Bellator 75 takes place at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind.

Can't wait for the HWs to return to Bellator tournament. Going with Santos. It's awesome Rogers is in this as well.

This GP is going to be nice. HW's are always welcome.

Hopefully they don't miss the chance to use their other recent signings.

Can't wait for it, but man.... it would be awesome if Ivanov was able to fight to be in this GP. I wonder how he's doing now. They say the docs told he could be back by next year, but IDK.

Anyway, thanks for the news. Looking foward to see the next fights.

Looking at the remaining roster i belive we will have Vinicius Queiroz vs Vitaly Minakov as the last bout.
Queiroz said on Esporte Interativo TV, that he will debut on the tournament and Minakov was expecting to enter as well, the hw division is way better now than last year.

I wish Blagoi was in this... he would have been a favorite.

bolsheet.....im a little upset beacuse i thought that the ryan martinez vs mike wessell winner was in the gp....i did not expect it sparks to be in it....

I also heard that the Martinez bout was a qualifier.

I'm kind of disappointed with this match-up in all honesty. With names like Kudin, Minakov, Barnett, etc. That's exactly what this field needed to be filled up with. Not Sparks, who has very little upside considering his age and brutal loss to Prindle and Godbeer, who is a good prospect but a natural light heavyweight.

Maybe they uses Queiroz as a reserve bout if some big heavyweight misses weight, this already happened on the fatherweight tournament, W/ Sparks on the GP we only have 2 spots left

Zak Jensen and Abe Wagner deserve to be cut, i can't belive they will put Kevin Asplund, Hae Joon Yang, Mark Holata or Neil Grove on the gp right now, only left Ryan Martinez, Vitaly Minakov, Alexei Kudin and Vinicius Queiroz for 2 spots.

From i had read i belive will be Vinicius Queiroz vs Vitaly Minakov, but maybe they use all 4 w/ 1 tournament fight and another reserve bout (w/ Queiroz losing his spot)

I think your concept is great Mr. Will! I realized that fine print on the Showtime site said we don't take unsolicited creative concepts. haha. I was embarrassed I didn't read it better before posting.

Don't they also have Jon Madsen?

Hae Joon Yang is a middleweight now and he's fighting for the vacant Legend title I believe, unless that fight was scrapped.

John Madsen no longer have a profile on the bellator website, the last fighters who had their profile taken off the site were Ueda, Mikhail Malyutin, Luis Santos, Villa (all cut) and hector lombard, i guess he had a verbal agreement and the deal now is off.

Either he's the mystery opponent of Josh Barnett or he might be on the UFC shortlist, because I don't see why he wouldn't have been officially signed by Bellator by now.

I really hope Damian Grabowski takes a spot in the last tournament bout.

HW division looks great, I´m excited to see how the russians will do in Bellator. Brett Rogers is going down.
