Maiquel Falcao will have to wait until 2013 for a title fight in Bellator

Maiquel “Falcao” Goncalves defeated Andreas Spang in May to become the middleweight champion of the Bellator tournament. However, according TATAME found, the fighter will have to wait until 2013 for a title shot against the champion of the division Alexander Shlemenko.

On a chat with TATAME, Maiquel talked about the duel with the Russian: “Alexander Shlemenko is a great fighter. My goal now is to train and set a came plan little by little”, said.

Falcao may join Eduardo Dantas on the Brazilian champions’ gallery of the event. Besides them, Brazil has won tournaments with Douglas Lima, Patricio Pitbull and Marcos Loro. The two last names are currently waiting for a chance at the belt, while Douglas fell before the champion Ben Askren.
