world series of fighting interested in rumble johnson...
Mon Sep 10, 2012 6:24 pm
A contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling has forced Kurt Angle to give up a commentary job at the World Series of Fighting's inaugural event.
WSOF President Ray Sefo today confirmed the news to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following a tweet from the Olympic gold medalist and pro wrestler.
"There's a conflict of interest, so he won't be able to do the (Nov.) 3 show," Sefo said, adding the split was amicable. A replacement has yet to be found.
Angle was among three personalities selected to call the action at the event, which takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and airs live on NBC Sports Network. Original picks Bas Rutten and Michael Schiavello will remain on the team.
Sefo said the remainder of the card will be finalized in the next week. As of now, the promotion needs a headliner to face ex-WEC bantamweight champ Miguel Torres, as well as opponents for recent signees Bobby Lashley, Rolles Gracie and James McSweeney.
The latter of the trio could be in line to meet another recent talent acquisition, Tyrone Spong, who's been working on transitioning from kickboxing to MMA.
Sefo also expressed interest in ex-UFC fighter Anthony Johnson, who on Sept. 21 meets Jake Rosholt at Titan FC 25 in Oklahoma.

Note to Sefo:
Do it. Sign Rumble. And get Gilbert Yvel as well.

I wouldn't look past Rosholt, that's for sure. If Rumble wins, then yes, it'll be a very nice signing for WSOF.

I hope world series sign all the legit fighters they can find. I like their ambition.

WSOF seems like they are not messing around signing and trying to sign all these fighters.

I know Yvel's fighting for RFA against Cruz next, I just wonder if RFA contracts are open, since Ramico Blackmon was on the WSOF roster (or has he left RFA?).
