showtime responds to strikeforce cancellation...
Mon Sep 24, 2012 10:10 pm
"On Friday night, Strikeforce informed us that lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez had sustained an injury and would not be able to compete in their Saturday, Sept. 29 card," the a statement from Showtime Sports read. "Without our headline fighter and main event or a marquee undercard, we reluctantly informed Strikeforce that we could not continue with plans for the telecast."

I will keep saying this until the brass at Showtime eventually see it on here.
Do not sign a exclusive agreement with just one organization. Showcase fighters, not organizations.
For the price they're paying for Strikeforce, they could easily showcase fights from around the world. Invicta, Tachi Palace Fights, KSW, M-1, RFA, DEEP, Shooto, Pancrase, Cage Warriors, One, Legend.
Why go with one, when you could have control of the rest?

Love the way you guys think. There are many more quality fights out there that people would watch over the overpriced skeleton that is Strikefarce.

I agree 100%. MMA needs a showcase focusing on world promotions, not just a singular one. If Showtime got their act together and ditched zoofa, that is.
Add ROAD FC, WCMMA and RUFF to that list too.

- Showtime VP "If they are under contract w/Strikeforce, they are Strikeforce fighters"
- do you think dream will substitute strikeforce in showtime???
- EXEC: SHOWTIME WILL STAY IN THE MMA BUSINESS AFTER STRIKEFORCE'S END...
- Could we start an action against Showtime if they keep the corpse of Strikeforce
- showtime has a boxing card scheduele november 3rd....no strikeforce for sure...
