I believe Pudz is huge for KSW in the short term. It opened up KSW to even more eyes. They really need to keep building for the future though so they won't lose the momentum. I don't know who that guy will be if Khalidov leaves. Materla and Blachowicz are fairly unspectacular compared to the other two.

They also need to bring in Drwal to challenge for Materla's belt.

KSW will always be these super shows and they have a different approach than M-1 who´s like a pro sport league. I agree KSW needs to build but they will do good as long as they have a few draws they can use for every show. I actually like to see the same guys every time, it´s like you get to know them better.timbercutter wrote:they gotta keep on building.....I'm still not sure if Pudz is good for KSW or not?
Pudz has been great for KSW and when he retires they need someone to fill his shoes. I hope KSW can sign a couple of huge names from the Zuffa roster and build a couple of new superstars of their own.

Yeah, their numbers are unreal. I remember a thread last month or so that said the 4.5 million viewer peak Mamed got at KSW 19, based on number of TV viewers total in the country, would be like 36 million viewers in the U.S.

Pudz has been great for KSW, I agree. He brought in a lot of viewers and many have stuck with the promotion.
I just hope KSW makes the fights that need to happen like Mamed vs. Materla for the MW belt (even if they are friends), Manhoef vs. Mamed would be amazing. After that, work hard to get a cross-promotional super fight with Shlemenko/Falcao winner and continue to build up new title challengers.
I love what KSW is doing. They put on the best produced show in the business and they are crowning new champs. They also don't run 4 dozen shows a year to make their brand become a bit stale. I like the fewer shows they run and they should just focus on several divisions with this number of events. They should not have women's fights or anything below LW with this number of events. Focus on LW, WW, MW, LHW, and HW.

Before KSW 21 I had no idea the KSW iPPV was only $2.50. I believe the stream takes some slightly heavy CPU usage but otherwise was wonderful. I had a lot fun watching this event and it's cool to know so many other people in the world did as well.

Yeah, I always pay $2.00 - $2.50 for there events. Well worth it. They had 720p HD going which was excellent. They boosted the rates for KSW 19 but are back on track now.

Agreed. HDNet/AXS is not the same as it once was. They once had live DREAM, Sengoku, M-1, MFC, and K-1 events. Now their two best shows are BAMMA and MFC (which I do like but no where near what they had).
With Mauro and Quadros being rumored as the DREAM NYE commentators, it is looking like AXS is not too likely since they have their own commentating team.
KSW would be an excellent pick up for them, as would DREAM, and getting M-1 back.

I think Pudz was certainly good for KSW right of the bat with his big time name recognition...but they have progressed into a very legitimate force in mma...I just remember the Pudz v Thompson fight..they lost a little credibility with that (strictly my opinion)......but they have progressed far past that low point..and have some fuckin awesome athletes...Khalidov is the fuckin Man..and they have outgrown Pudz as a centerpeice....

It would be cool to see some co-promotion between M-1 and KSW. Together they would be a real european super force.timbercutter wrote:Lofgren wrote:KSW will always be these super shows and they have a different approach than M-1 who´s like a pro sport league. ^^ co-promotion is the key for MMA to grow and be taken seriously
everyone needs to get on it
right now MMA is bunch of little tough guy leagues
its funny how small the UFC even is... whats there like 25 - 30 HW's

Co-promotion and non exclusive contracts is the future for the sport. Then there should be an independent international mma association that organizes title fights and rankings. Our G-MMA Rankings is a good start and should be used to determine title contenders for this association.Zoidborg wrote:^^ co-promotion is the key for MMA to grow and be taken seriously

I second that notion. The fake pro wrestling (sorry Eddie, had to steal your wording there) model of separate leagues is what's holding the sport back. Not to mention zoofa as well.

only 50 guys?!!
and the UFC cuts guys like they win a prize for it... they like being tiny... less overhead i guess
and all based on contract negotiations... Fedor: not good enough... Mark Hunt: sure come on in your the "best in the world"

Ultimate FC is just one of many promotions. Fans should support the fighters not one single promotion. It would look pretty silly if boxing fans only supported Don King promotions.Zoidborg wrote:wekka wrote:^ there's only so many high level heavyweights anyway.
