The undefeated American fighter Will Brooks (8-0, pictured) has signed with Bellator Fighting Championship and will make his debut against Brazilian Ricardo Tirloni (15-3).

The fight between the two will be valid for GP lightweights of the organization and will take place at Bellator 87, which will be held on the 31st of this month in Michigan, United States.

Brooks announced the news via twitter:

"Going to Gurnee to sign my contract tonight or tomorrow to fight Ricardo Tirloni tournament of Bellator's lightweight"

With a cartel undefeated in MMA, Brooks was unknown until his big performance against the Japanese Satoru Kitaoka at Dream 18 Special NYE 2012, was a great moment for Will, defeating a fighter, skilled veteran who has beaten big names in MMA. The "Ill Will" owns a good technique, with sharp falls and heavy hands.

Already Tirloni, 29, has an impressive retrospect, the fighter Balneario Camboriu has 18 career fights 15 wins (13 by knockout or submission won) and only two losses, and one for the current UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. His last appearance was in November last year at Bellator 81, where he was surpassed in a controversial points decision by American Dave Jansen and was eliminated from the tournament in 2012.

well i dont have a link but a friend that works at the company has confirmed to me that will brooks 8-0 will debut at bellator 87 vs ricardo tirloni as part of the gp....

the announcement was delayed beacuse they were holding a spot for eddie alvarez but the with the bidding war going on,....

also zavurov will be the alternate of the gp....possible opponent for him jason fischer....

excellent for him he was very impressive on nye in Japan.

Unbelievable signing. I knew he wouldn't stay unsigned for long after the Kitaoka fight. Wish DREAM were settled so we could see him against Aoki but at least he'll still fight against solid competition in Bellator.

It's unfortunate he has to fight Tirloni, who still poses as a major threat. If he Brooks does win, I think he wins the tournament.

Also glad Fischer is getting an alternative spot. He beat Rickels, in my opinion.

Bellator was fast on this signing and they should be. Top prospect if we can even call him that after his big win against Kitaoka.

Great signing for Bellator. Damn this tournament is impressive. Who is going to be able to deal with the striking of Thiago Michel? I'll will win over kitaoka def. earned him a spot here. Low Tournament is also real solid. WW not so much.

The Viacom money is just starting to trickle down. Wait til they take off on SPIKE. Bigger arenas way bigger TV audiences to follow.

The Viacom guys are well aware of the billion dollar MMA market that the Fertitta's & Dana have stumbled into developing. This is an investment for them. Just like throwing $50M at the UFC was to Frank & Lorenzo. Their not gonna have to throw anywhere near $50M at it before turning a profit though. They'll be making money of the back of the Fertitta's & Dana. Won't that be something!

An old adage of business, indeed. Takes money to make money. Especially in this day and age. In this sense, the Viacom deal, and the Spike partnership, are big matters indeed.

Bellator MMA is a promotion that I think true fight fans, as well as casuals can get behind, though. It takes time to get the people to tune in, hence the throwing money to the wind thing, but all in due time. Bellator seems to be doing a lot of things right, from a business standpoint as well as from a promotional standpoint.
