Tito Ortiz asks UFC to release Cris Cyborg...

On this week’s edition of AXSTV’s Inside MMA, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos’ manager, Tito Ortiz, revealed they have requested her release from the UFC.

According to Ortiz, the UFC is offering his client a lucrative deal, but they want to “stick her over at Invicta.” The Brazilian is looking for a four-fight agreement, with the last scrap coming against current UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey.

However, Cyborg wants all of her bouts, including the blockbuster against Rousey, to take place at a weight no less than 140 pounds. Unfortunately for Ortiz and Co., it’s bantamweight or bust for women in the UFC.

Why not just have one women's division?

Combine 135 and 145 at a 140 catchweight and call that your division. You'll be able to have more depth that way too.

Probably Invicta would be my guess.

She signed with Strikeforce and is now stuck with UFC, right?

I'd guess that was the case. More female fighters from Strikeforce will probably be stuck with the UFC very soon (Miesha Tate comes to mind).

That sucks, especially since UFC doesn´t really have womens mma. When Ronda loses they will probably not care much about wmma unless they find another good looking champ.

I think that's another part of the problem. She wants to be on cable or ppv from the sounds of it.
