Satoshi Ishii will fight Jeff Monson at M-1 Challenge 42

Olympic judo champion Satoshi Ishii agreed to sign a contract with M-1 Global. His first fight is scheduled for October 20, at M-1 Challenge 42, where he will fight against Jeff Monson ( USA ).

After the defeat against Fedor Emelianenko Ishii won 5 straight fights and now his professional record stands at 9 wins and two defeats and one draw. Jeff Monson is in his words fully recovered from injuries and wants to prove to everyone that he is in order and ready to once again defeat opponents of any level. The Olympic gold medalist in judo fights the two-time ADCC champion at the Ice Palace.

Really big signing by M-1. They´re doing the right thing to focus on the heavyweights because that´s where the biggest fights are made like in all combat sports. Sign back Aleks and there will be tons up amazing matchups for the next couple of years.

Right now they have Kharitonov, Ishii, Monson, Grabowski, Garner, Malikov, Tybura, Smoldarev, Gluhov, Kudin, Ka, Guram, Oleinik and some other guys..

I almost forgot about his upcoming fight against Cro Cop at NYE, if it happens.

Monsons getting owned IMO its ishiis coming out party in m-1 good signing wish they would pick up some Polish heavies and become the supreme European org they could and should be.

Damn, M-1s HW division just keeps getting better.  Love this Ishii vs. Monson fight too.
