Fedor never needed a fence as his main weapon to immobilize opponents against to be undefeated for 10yrs/34 fights.
This is really important to note in any debate about how good the current UFC champion in from a historical context.
As well just to add another thing for consideration...
Fedor won 22 of his fights in the 1st round
- 64% (14W) under 2:30 of the 1st
- 50% (14W) under 2:00 of the 1st
- 36% (8W) under 1:30 of the 1st
- 18% (4W) under 1:00 of the 1st
Cain has won 14 of his fights in the 1st round.
- 50% (7W) under 2:30 of the 1st
- 21% (3W) under 2:00 of the 1st
- 14% (2W) under 1:30 of the 1st
- 0% (0W) under 1:00 of the 1st
I do like Cain as a fighter. He has a great skill-set and is very well-rounded. He may be the most respectful fighter in the UFC. That goes a long way in my books.
Cain's fighting style previous to the last few fights was preferable to me. All the time he has his opponents pinned to the cage not trying to submit them or KO them very often will get old with many fans, just like with GSP. I don't think people want to, or expect to see a lot of 5 round decision fights from big HW's.
The Unified Rules and the chain link wall/tool/implement/weapon are now even more seriously affecting the outcomes of fights. That's just not right. They can artificially enhance in a major way a fighters abilities. This makes it really hard to fairly compare fighters who do not fight in a cage and are not given the ability to use a tool/implement/weapon to win.
Any other comparisons for and against these guys head to head???

to be fair to Cain his strategy for the third JDS fight was basically all he could do
- Konstantin Gluhov: “I’m looking for the fights with the best opponents, that’s why I accepted the fight with Emelianenko”
- Breakdown of opponents for Fedor
- Konstantine Gluhov: I always wanted to fights with strong opponents, so I agreed to a fight with Aleks
- Sakakibara's Oct 8th press conference will be available on stream. Fedor and Gabi's opponents to be revealed
- Who will win The Titles and Main event Fights at KSW 21?
