IMO just surpassed Nick as the better brother.
I love these local heros but I always saw nate as just a step behind big bro but he showed excellence tonight.
His boxing is fast furious and who says Diaz boys don't ko people LOL straight punches get there first.also after being taken down he made space escaped and got up he knew he wouldn't sub maynard.
He WILL get a title shot now its a race between he and Gilbert to fight Thomson and pettis.
I really hope ufc sets up Diaz with Thomson rather than a Melendez vs Thomson for like the 10th time LOL.
Overall good night of fights.

Nick is still the better fighter, and the better philosopher. Nate is better at giving the finger doe.

Nick is still better. Nate I feel is better at boxing however but as a complete fighter Nick is better. Also the Diaz brothers are the Fox networks worst nightmare lol

I would usually be the one leading this LOL I love Nick but he isn't as active when taken down he doesn't pop up he's content with maybe pulling a sub where nate is smart enough to get out of bad positions.
Also nate showed great footwork and used his range.he got off first and countered great as well.
What I'm saying is there was a gap in talent tonight it was closed whoever you prefer there is no denying Diaz bros are great.

Nice to read Nate got the win, I couldn't fucking sit through all those shitty TUF contestant bouts to get to the main myself.

No, Nick is still a little bit better. He has sharper and crisper combinations plus has a bigger arsenal of strikes.

While I agree Nick uses more kicks and his combos are crisper his gameplanning and mentality are off.
With condit he could have switched to boxing and angled instead of flat foot waiting to counter or my biggest pet peve with Nick is his ground work.
Nick if taken down is more focused on position then getting back up or attacking.
I'm just impressed nate instantly hit butterfly made space and got up.
Honestly if it was Nick I thin he woulda went for sweep and ended up on bottom in side control or half guard and would ride the round out pressuring but never getting a sub.

Guess what I'm saying is while Nick has more experience and a better stand-up arsenal (I feel both black belts are great)
I think nate adjusts his gameplan on the fly better and his groundgame has great defense and has gotten much tighter.
I agree nate's combos and hands aren't as crisp or diverse but he uses his range better and doesn't take as many shots to give shots.

Okay finally saw this, I see what fka is getting at.
To me I got a similar feeling of as if I were watching Nick back when he was defending his Strikeforce belt. It was fucking awesome to explain plainly.
I think Nate has a higher potential than Nick in technique and in-fight IQ but unless he works as hard as his brother did it will take him longer to get there. This fight definitely shows steps towards that next level bar of talent for the Diaz bros legacy though.

Nate definitely seems to be a bit stronger relative to his weightclass than Nick.
Those shots he was hitting Gray were had a lot of power to them.
Nick has knockout power, we've seen it before, but him and Nate seem about the same size while one fights at 15 lbs lower.
I think Nick's BJJ is a little better too, he's just facing bigger and stronger guys than Nate.

You gotta consider that Nate has a lot more reach than Nick against their respective weight classes. Nick likes to be hit that's how he gets going I have a similar style which when I'm hit it gets my emotion and adrenaline go bucks almost upset if he's not caught a couple times a fight.
Also Nick is a notoriously slow starter(until he gets hit)
How he catches guys like Paul Daley and was unsuccessful against condit is he will throw half speed straight punches allowing a Guy to come over the top once the opponent connects he unleashed full speed counter hooks.
Nate starts faster and doesn't have the same take one to give one style he's more jab one two then double jab combo flurry once he's inside.

Nick's fight with Diego was at 170 and when he fought at 160 he was only like 22 or 23. He's much stronger and has grown into his body more now.
And I think Nate gets hit more than Nick. I haven't look at the stats but Nate has for sure been dropped a lot more.

Both bros have progressed but I just feel like audax said nate's fight IQ is higher and still has time to fully peak the skills he has.
I love both I just see while Nick is sorta complacent nate is advancing.

It would be close with the last 3 fights from both of them.
I bet nate has spent less time on his back.
Either way whoever you feel is better you cannot deny the gap in skill was closed alot and not long from now torch will be passed.
