Yeah looks illegal to me. I don´t want to see this shitty technique in mixed martial arts. I don´t think Barnett thought this was legal either.

yeah the elbow is a sharp bone it can deffinitely fuck you up, lead to fractures and cuts, why that shit would be legal and knees aren't leaves me completely dumbfounded.

The downward elbow strikes were illegal for awhile I remember Jones got DQ'd for them once   now that they aren't your gonna see a lot of people getting elbowed in the head as they go for takedowns, especially with the cage to lean against and maintain your balance.

personally i could do without elbows, that win wasn't that impressive to me. also I think you may be right about Barnett not expecting that since they've been illegal in his other fights.
