A 'real' sports journalist in LA takes over press lunch & hammers Dana to the wall

UFC President Dana White was involved in a rather heated back-and-forth conversation with reporter T.J. Simers, who decided to call out the Zuffa fight boss on a variety of different topics during yesterdays UFC 169 media luncheon.

MMAWeekly’s  Erik Fontanez was on the scene and basically tweeted a live play-by-play of the comments and questions made by Mr. Simers, who did his best to get underneath the skin of the UFC President:












T.J. Simers comes off as one tough customer, but his questions were not all that prevalent and more of just a personal attack, at least in my opinion. What do you think Penn Nation? Does anyone else think Dana regrets inviting him to lunch?

T. J. Simers (born September 2, 1950[1]) is an American sports columnist who worked for the Los Angeles Times from 1990-2013 before accepting a position at the Orange County Register. He attended Northern Illinois University.[2]

Simers also worked The San Diego Union, the Rocky Mountain News, The Commercial Appeal, the Morristown Daily Record, the Beloit Daily News, the Coeur d'Alene Press, and the DeKalb Chronicle.[2]

The reportage by BJPenn is also a load of shit too of course, bias as can be.

The writer also seems to have mistook the word 'prevelent' for 'relavent'.

Great stuff here. Dana was hammered by this reporter. Finally Dana gets a taste of his own medicine from a real reporter that could give a shit about his Zuffa credentials. Wish there were more of them.

I really wish there was somewhere we could complain or tell the ufc were sick of them insulting fighters publicly. It's disgusting!

On this T. J. Simers comes off as on the wrong end of the argument for us fight fans. He is arguing to Dana that people should not be fighting. But as we know this is only a small part of the whole attack on Dana. Wish we could find the rest of it somewhere.

His argument is a valid one for any parents of children who might want to fight... and maybe even for guy's like Gary Goodridge, Muhammad Ali, Freddie Roach, Junior Seau, Chris Benoit, etc. in hindsight.

^ I enjoy watching professionals fight but I would never let any of my 5 kids risk their health for fighting.
